All the better to play with I'll bet!!! Does anyone know, does it have to be plugged in to the wiimote? If so, I will be mildly annoyed. I want it to be stand-alone!!! -

Registered 15 years ago@Furbs: The proof will be in the pudding I guess, but for what it's worth I always loved the SNES controller. Also, if the thing is connected to the wiimote, I think it will be awkward.
@everyone: Will the final Classic controller be wireless??? -

Registered 20 years agoYes but Nintendo has confirmed that you need to connect it to the freestyle -

Glad I've got a good selection of GC pads.
Thats kinda the way I felt about the SNES pads too. Saying that, I actually picked up one of the Master System controllers a few days ago and it did feel old-school cool! Not sure how long I could live with it again on a day to day basis. -

Ergo, it's NOT wireless. :'( /T.G. am cry -

Wellt here's no wire between the pad and the Wii, so you could still sit as far away as you like without any leads to trip over.

I have read a couple of hands-on that have mentioned the lightness of the Wiimote, hopefully this controller will be the same. I'd like to see a picture with the Wiimote actually attached to it. -

Registered 20 years agoIf you hold the N64 pad on with one hand on the middle bit it's like holding the nunchuk attachment for the freestyle. -

Ditto. Not a very nice pad to hold at all. I'm certainly not keen on it anyway. -

So does the Wiimote not click onto the back anymore?

Registered 18 years agoI remember reading that the Wiimote clipped onto the back of this controller to prevent (/invents word) dangleness. -

Oh, and I don't really like this controller too much. I'd rather have a re-release of the N64 controller, I don't think I'll even want to play N64 games without it, as strange as it sounds. Looks like it'll be fine for SNES games, though.
Perhaps some third parties will bring out controllers shaped like the N64 pad. I'm not a fan of third party products, but it'd probably be worth investing in for that. -
Now there's a D-Pad I bet I could dragon punch to my heart's content on.

Registered 16 years agoI still say Street Fighter needs a stick
EDIT: As in, an arcade stick. Not an analogue one, obviously.

Personally I'm a hybrid man:
D-pad as normal but the buttons used 'arcade style'. So thats only really the Saturn controller (jap. one) ftw then.
Shoulder buttons confused and disoriantate me when it comes to SF games, especially if you have to press all 3 punches/kicks to do the super movers. Akuma's Shun Goku Satsu was easy mind. -
Looks like it could get slippery if you have sweaty gaming hands like me. Come to think of it it looks like a bar of soap. -
