That actually looks a lot of fun. It would be shit on a normal joypad but the Wii controller looks to make the whole experience a whole lot of fun.

/wonders if that same magic would apply to RPGs...

    :p

Well really it would be no different from say SSX on a normal pad. It does look very cool though and if the controls right its a definate purchase.

Good to FINALLY see someone who can play and narrate pretty well at the same time. It's embarrassing watching people slowly wobble of edges while talking.

It was dubbed. Anyway, it didn't always look like the movements corresponded to what was on screen. Also at times it looked like there was delay between the input and output on screen.

still not convinced that moving a freefloating pad with no center point of reference will be even remotely as good a control interface as a d-pad/analogue stick.

I think that it's going to be a gimic that you try a few times on each new game then go back to using the dpad.. only to find that it's a really awkward controller to treat like a normal joypad.

/still probably get one, but not optimistic at all.

And herein lies a bit of a potential problem for Wii. Since the controller is clearly not suited for every type of game, we may end up with games that only use the remote. Say, is Wii going to miss out on football games, and fghting games and especially Japanese RPGs?

You can use a GC pad, including wavebird, or the retro pad they are releasing, so no reason that ALL games must use the wand

Personally, I think Blu Ray is more of a gimmick than the freestyle.
