Same place the apostrophe came from. Ever heard of punctuation? ;P
If the exclamation mark is there, the period after the quotes does not need to be there. Ever heard of grammar? -

It doesn't need to not be there though. If you have a question mark or an exclamation mark inside the quote, the full stop is still desirable. And yes, I have heard of grammar. But I won't be drawn further on the subject, SilentBob already taught me that lesson 3 months ago... -

You might
want to double check
on what you know about grammar.
Just a hint, mind. -

Perhaps, but some people can do that naturally and very easily.
Though not many people. I thought the Wii controller was meant to make games more inclusive?
This control sounds like what someone too close to the game would come up with. Balletic in the right hands, but most of us would look like fools.
Some interesting general points this highlights though. It's not just the controls which put some people off games, but the complexity of the controls. A number of fighting games have complex controls - the d-df-f button press at the right time type. Putting this on a flick of the wrist instead of a flick of the thumb is not reducing the complexity, simply reproducing it with the wii controller. What happens on the screen has to have a greater link with what you do with the controller surely?
Left and right for Fight Night sounds much better though. It is the direction "total punch control" was going in anyway, as they were trying to link the natural movement of the arms to the sticks of the controller. -

Have none of you played Samba De Amigo?!
You look like a total twonk playing it yet you're having so much fun you couldn't care less, really. As for it being hard, pfffft 10 minutes after picking it up you'll suss what's required. Yes it may not work but by the same token it may work fantastically!

Sweet.

I was going to edit just after posting to "look and play like a fool". I don't have a problem with looking like a fool - it comes naturally
. Playing like one because of the control method is a problem though.
I play Fight Night every week with friends. The best boxer is the guy who gets so into it he needs a three seater sofa to himself. You can tell which boxer he is and what his boxer is doing by looking just at the player - not the screen. The Wii controller will work great for him I reckon. This is a game where the control lends itself to the controller though - and I'm not talking about the genre but the game itself. As a game series it's already evolved into a game which can be controlled with just the two sticks. MK isn't there yet, and the implication that d-df-f type controls are cut'n'pasted to flicks of the Wii controller sounds so wrong.
I'm not saying it wouldn't work if you put some time in, it's just why should you put the time in when it is a control mechanism designed for a regular controller? Again, if you have to put the time in haven't you have already lost the non-gamer?
Companies have to change control schemes to fit the controller, not just fit existing control schemes to the controller to get the best out of it. That raises all sorts of issues with big cross platform releases.
On a positive note I think we have to go through a significant amount of games which don't get it right in order to get some real classics out the other side. I feel like MK as described will be like one of those games we have to go through though. -

I better whoever uses a trad. controller will win every time, thus condemning Wiimote functions to gimmick status.
