'Perhaps the release date of the Wii is hidden somewhere in this news article'. Many sites have 'cracked the code' and most that I have seen consider the release date to be October 2nd. What do you think?

That seems to be the current best info. So... £150, then?

Can you give us some links to the "cracking?". Was it not just N being "funny"?

They were just being funny in their press release, there is no code. Just bait for the fans and allot of them fell for it aparently.

Well, according to Revo-Europe, the "industry" is hotting up for a 12th November release date, with software shipping from late October.

Believable? Me thinks not... 'Specially the £120/€180 price tag! Not a chance...

Date perhaps, SKU price? Far too low for the European market... Can't see it going for anything much less than £150/€220. However, I look forward to being pleasantly surprised :o)

    I don't believe that.

However, if it IS released on the 2nd October I would cry with joy... Just before my birthday - if I could wait that extra week and a bit that is.

Heard it's coming with 2 remotes as standard. Do we believe that or not?
Sounds sensible, considering the Wii logo frequently turns the "i" bits into remotes. I'm not expecting a giant "W" in the paqckage though, so this prediction might be a bit off.

Safe assumption there won't be shortages with how easy it should be to make giving the rumoured specs and also the fact that it's a Nintendo console launching in Europe aka SonyLand.

I walked into a store and bought GC, DS and DSLite. Europe doesn't care about Nintendo, there will be no shortages.

I'm just saying, you don't need to preorder a Nintendo console in Europe.

PS3 will sell out, 360 sold out. With Wii, that won't happen.

Is the Wii still on for worldwide release this year then? I'm still waiting for the announcement from Nintendo that it won't be appearing in Europe 'til 2007.

    Ditto for the PS3.

£160, sometime in November. Prediction, obviously.

I wouldn't be surprised if it came with two remotes. There's that drum 'game' that requires two remotes, and it would push Nintendo's community vision by not having to go out and buy an another controller.

and it would push Nintendo's community vision by not having to go out and buy an another controller.

It would ruin nintendo's community vision by not forcing their users to by additional peripherals.

I would say release in either late October, or spring next year. (I would bet on Late october out of the two... but they always have the nack of having 'unforseen issues' which delay the euro launch...)

Pricewise, while I would love it to be low, having it below £150.00 would not leave them too much room in the future. (If the GC actually launched at £150.00, had a few stepped price drops (drop from £149.99 to £129.99 followed by £110, then £99.99, and finally closer to the £70-£80 a few years down the line.)(instead of just the one big one a while after things had all gone downhill.) I think it would have been slightly more successful.)
