    Serious answers only please :)

Are you going to Buy a Wii?

    Why?

What games do you plan to buy on release day?

Yup - 3 games, not sure which ones

Because Ninty make the best "fun" games on the market :) Oh and *caugh* Zelda *caugh*

    No.

No games I want, unimpressed with hardware.

More than likely - will depend on whats available on or around launch. If Dragon Quest and Zelda are available then yes with both.

Yup, low price point and a new Zelda and Mario on launch day = me being sold.

I would, if there were some games that interest me. The price is definitely right.

    Mario isn't a launch game. And Zelda's a Cube game. :-D

It really does depend on how pretty the packaging is.

Yes, if I don't have to queue overnight to get one.

With heavy hitters like Zelda and Metroid on launch day you can't go wrong. Plus there's the more unique stuff like WarioWare and Super Monkey Ball.

Zelda's also a Wii launch game :) In a slightly pimped form and altered to support the Wii controller.

Shame Mario isn't going to launch with the console, but nevermind, Twilight is good enough for me.

Yep. Am even considering importing one depending on region locking for wii and cube games.

I think it'll be Red Steel and Monkey Ball at launch. And maybe wii sports (...) if the price is right.

    Has the price been announced?
"Less than 168€", says Nintendo. So way below the magical 200€ impulse buy barrier.

    Yes. Because when it comes down to it... I've become a bit of a Nintendo fanboy. ;_;

Plus I'm really looking forward to using a control method that ISN'T a joypad or K&M. Looks fun.

At this stage no as I really have not seen anything on that really interests me. The controller is interesting but they have not convinced me of its worth yet. It seems like the kind of thing that could either be genius or a turd on stick and I really have not seen enough yet to decide which of these it is.

I would add though that the price is in the impluse buy range for me so when its released if it has anything that looks cool to me its possible I might get one.

Yup. Zelda, WarioWare, Metroid Prime 3 for certain, probably Wii Sports and possibly Far Cry just because I'm that franchises bitch. Then I'm set. And I would make a kitten cry for a copy of Super Mario Galaxy.

lol, your probably right. Although I remain hopeful (in a state of denial) that it wont suck.

    Yes

Because I have the cash saved up and it'll be my second 'next gen' system

Zelda & Metroid Prime. If it was just one of those games at out at launch, I could've resisted. Both of them? Buggeration :/

    Not a chance.

I was unhappy with the breadth of the software library and frequency of releases on their previous two home consoles, I'm not getting suckered again. I'll wait to see if there is improvement on that front before I look at the Wii seriously.

And the name still sounds stupid.

Where did they say that? That's not much more than a hundred quid. Bargain
  • Deleted user 16 August 2006 13:43:18
I'm pretty much over the whole wii sounding like "wee" thing, but everytime I see 'Wii sports' I think of those torrents that I try so hard to avoid when looking for my favourite Japanese lovelies.

    No chance of that.

I expect it to be no more than £200. I'm hoping it'll be under £150.

    yes.
Because i've had some great time with my cube and Nintys first party games are usually excellent. Also it's like a breath of fresh air and the PS3 and 360 for the moment don't appeal to me.
3 of whichever games take my fancy.

Somehow I've managed to miss out on all the Wii launch game info. Probably not at launch then.

Yup, £113.29 according to my Opera widget. Not a chance!
But yes, the price point makes it a goer.

Not even looking at a PS3 until the price is seriously dropped, or there is an unignorable pile of triple A exclusives released for it.

They talked about the Japanese launch price sometime last May apparently, according to Gamefront. Even with the inevitable European shafting tax it shouldn't cost more than 200€.
