No, nothing really interests me apart from Zelda, but only because it's Zelda, and I'm still sceptical about the controller.

Plus having played on HDTV for a while I really can't see myself going back to SD games, the only one I can stomach playing now is multiplayer Pro Evo with my friends.

    /Is graphics whore

I will say though that if the controller actually works without too many issues and the games are good (almost a given, considering it's Nintendo) then I will probably get one eventually.

This makes no sense to me at all, but the main thing that would make me get one is knowing that I could use the normal cube controller set up for Zelda. Strange n'est pas?

As long as it's not more than €300

Will pick up Monkey Ball, Zelda and Metroid Prime (if it's available at launch). We'll see what other titles are there at launch...

Yes, 100%, provided it's region-free as I live in Hong Kong but may return to England in the next few years.

Even if it's not, I MIGHT still get one as they'll be cheap as chips in Hong Kong...

Reasons - it's something a bit different, it could be fantastic and even if it's not it's not a lot of money, and as lots of other people have said I become more of a Nintendo fanboy as the days pass ;)

Yes I'll be attempting to get one on release day. Will be importing from USA or Canada, as I have GC games from that region that I hope will be back compat. (*)

I know I want Zelda, and equally know I 'have' to get the Wii version. Getting the GC version and knowing the Wii version will have its own tweaks to the game will be too much temptation.

(* - as I've heard rumours on both sides that it will and it will not play all previous GC games)

Oh god, aye I will deffo be getting a Wii. I'm not sure of the specific release date or what games it will have but I want one! Why do I want one? Because Nintendo are trying to offer something different and it is cheap. \o/

I'll be there, rolls of pound notes in my sweaty little mitts.

Or I'll put it on my credit card.

Not too sure yet. It's a Nintendo console, so it'll be a definite purchase at some point (if only to play the Nintendo IP), but I promised myself I wouldn't buy another console this year. Of course, if the console + games turn out to be great then I may not be able to resist.

Funnily enough, Zelda is by far the game I'm most interested in, and of course I won't need a Wii to play that. But, if the Wii version is turns out have a significant advantage over the GameCube version then I may end up buying the console on launch day for that alone. Metroid I'm not so interested in - there's no guarantee it'll be as close to the quality of Prime. As for SMG - looks interesting, but I'm still in two minds over the control system.

    Buying one? No.

Why not? Considering the little use my Cube has had it would probably end up the same way.

Don't know. Nintendo IP isn't a selling point for me at all, so all will depend on how good and different the controller really is. And the price, of course.

Probably not on release, unless I actually earn some money by then. But it's definitly on my Christmas list.

Zelda + MP3? Two big titles on the same day, that's a lot to take in. How will you decide which to play first?

There are no pre-orders yet, and I wouldn't hold your breath waiting for a 'non-bundle' package from a high-street retailer.

I was in Game in Fenwick of Newcastle yesterday and an assistant told me “There’s a great deal of interest in the Nintendo Wii; people who can’t pre-order the PS3 are putting deposits on the Wii.” I inquired “How many PS3 have been pre-ordered?” He said “100 our total allocation.” I tried to wind him up by saying “That’s a lot of PS3s; someone’s going to be unhappy this Christmas; as the PS3 won’t reach our shores until Easter."

He laughed and said “Sony have guaranteed us 100 PS3s before Christmas.” What bullshit; Game are only taking names of people who are interested in new consoles as they don’t even know their allocation. I remember the PES2 fiasco with Game claiming they had 1.5 million pre-orders; PES2 sold 700,000 units in the UK and that was all video games stores.

It’s nice to see that Game are supporting the Wii; with the Wii demo playing on all of the store TVs, it’s a pity the same couldn’t be said for the Cube I can’t find Chibi-Robo anywhere.

I'll certainly be getting a Wii on release day it will make a great stocking filler for Christmas; which is pity as it will be plugged in from day 1. :)

we got a mailing in the post today saying Call of Duty 3 will be a launch Wii title. Is that old? FPS should be great with the wand, be like using a light gun. Almost as good as a mouse.

I'm not so sure myself, aiming might be ok, but turning quickly will be a bitch

Yes I will be buying one on release day, not sure which games, I'm waiting for some hands-on previews before I decide

my only real concern is how good the wand controller is in general. Am I right in thinking the console comes with a sensor strip that needs to be near the tv, because I can see that getting ruinied with jammy fingerprints off the kids.

If there's no sensor, and its accurate and has no lag then I'll happily through £150 at getting one, and then get rid of the esthetically beautiful cube.

edit: bollocks, I'll be getting one anyway because £150 is nothing.

I don't think fingerprints should stop it working, and you can also have it above your TV apparantly. Remember it doesn't work like a TV remote control so it shouldn't need line of sight to work (as I understand it anyway)

I hope you mean "ruined" in an aesthetical sense

I was thinking that if the sensor required line of sight (becaue the front of the wand looks like an infra-red thingy), and then you put jam over the sensor, then the sensor won't be able to see through the jam.

uh what, IR not able to see through the "jam"?

do you live in a cave

No, but I buy expensive jam that has real fruity pieces in it. Last time I checked a whole strawberry did not allow light to pass directly through it.

    What jam do you buy?

Get the Wii at launch? My knee-jerk answer is yes, no question about it.

But then when I stop to think about it.; what if Wii Zelda is broken and Metroid is delayed from launch so as to not eat Zelda sales (latest IGN podcast)? Cube Zelda + DS + PS2 would see me drowning in games in Q4 without buying a Wii.

And then I think AA batteries. Hmm, maybe I'll hang fire.

Nintendo, give me Fire Emblem at launch and I'm yours.

you let your kids run around your house with jam on their hands? what the fuck man. put up some fences or something.

I certainly do. Children are scary. At least if they have jam on their hands there's a chance they'll end up stuck to something and therefore under control.
