Personally I can see me using it to start with for most games, and using it long term for sports related titles where motion control will really benefit things.

For long term RPG / Action gaming I can see myself plugging in the good old GB pad tbh...

What are your guys expectations of controller related fun? :)

I'll use it, give it a go obviously. If it doesn't work i'll pug in a GC pad and play that way. I'm hoping there will be some games that will give you a bit of a cardio workout and games like Samba should be easier to develop too!
    Sweet.

I thought Nintendo had already confirmed that the Gamecube pad will only work with Gamecube games not as an alternate to the packed in gamepad.

Some times of games could only work wioth such a contrl scheme.

I see a chance for more pc type management games being given a chance for a successful crossover.

Didn't hear that. In fact I seem to remember the dude who make SSBM say "don't throw away your Gamecube pads". Granted that was a bit of a joke, but it's not like the virtual console controller is much different button-wise to the cube controller (except in design obviously).

I just hope you're going to be given the option. I wouldn't be so sure that you will.

To add to this, a recent article on IGN (pfft!) about the new Dragon Ball Z game also stated that this title can be played with a GC controller as an alternative to the Wii-mote

With the fact that the games will, in most cases, have thier gameplay designed for the Wiimote, it's probably not even going to be possible.

Hell, why even bother buying one if you don't fancy the new controller??
It's pretty much the main feature of the console.

And why is there all this hate for the "Classic" controller? Recent reports have said that it is a very comfortable design. Personally, I think it looks lovely and, considering I've coped with all generations of Playstation so far, I can cope with the dual analogue setup on it.

It's also small so I don't see you having to stretch as you kind of have to do with the duel shock controller on PS2 as the analog sticks are in a terrible location on that joypad.

I just hope they include the option to use a GC controller in the Wii version of Twilight Princess. Fishing with the Wiimote is nice, and the other stuff too, but I'd like the option to revert back to GC if I don't get on with the control scheme.

How is that money grabbing? If you want NGC control you get that version, if you don't you get the Wii version.
Dunno if the control works? Don't buy it yet and wait for reviews.

Again, the Wiimote is the main feature of the Wii. It would be idiotic if they diden't feel confident enough in it's design not to have that as the main control method in it's own games.

Have some faith that the big N know a little about games and are unlikely to fuck up one of their most loved franchises :)

    What about Double Dash then?

They hardle exactly fucked that up did they. Ok it may not have been as great as we'd hoped for but it was still good, and certainly no worse that 64.

Still a perfectly good game though, and the majority of people these days will never have played the classic :)

For what it's worth, I'm really looking forward to the new control schemes. It'll liven up gaming in a way that Guitar Hero recently did for me. If it works, it'll be great craic IMO.

I dont see it as novelty controll, but thats opinion. Considering the delays and how loing they must have been working on both the Wii and Zelda though I certainly wouldnt use the words shoe-horning and almost-finished though.

Im looking forward to playing it with the new controller, but it does seem strange not to allow both controls. Surely all the moves that can be done on both versions are the same, or are there extra moves on the Wii version that cant be maped to a pad?

Im also looking forward to Mario, that looks great fun, and see what happens with the potential Pilotwings.
