Registered 16 years agoCan someone show me something he's done that's any good? Not slagging him off but he seems to have become famous for nothing. He's described as a comedian, Is there any footage of him telling funny jokes available? -

His Ponderland programme was good, IIRC. His piece about the 'Santana gang' was great. -

He's a pretty good stand up comedian. He makes me laugh anyway. He's no Doug Stanhope or Stewart Lee but he can command a stage very well. He has a phenomenal presence as he's quite a tall chap and, well, maybe I'm a bit gay for him. The long hair confuses me.
I also understand why people don't like him. -

In which case I hope I did recall correctly! -

Registered 15 years agoI have to admit that I found the Ross/Brand phonecall extremely distasteful and in bad taste. They definately overstepped the mark this time. Normally I'm all for their rude remarks and distasteful outbursts but there was something just wrong about this occasion. -

He should have answered his phone like he was supposed to then! Got to say it made me laugh but I can see why it "upset" some people. -

Registered 15 years agoYes well. I'll defend RB all day long as I think he's hilarious but this does seem a little dodgy. But then I didn't hear it so I shouldn't comment. At the end of the day, it's all bollocks really. Has manuel made a complaint himself? -

I've seen him live once and was pretty impressed tbh. I'm not a massive fan of his look but I have to admit, he was a funny fucker in the show. Couldn't give a rats ass what he does in his private life. -

Registered 17 years agoI like him. I don't like the Brand wannabes that his exposure has spawned however. There's no more irritating a sight than a young male dressed and groomed exactly like Russell Brand or Noel Fielding. Get your own personality for goodness sake. -

Forgetting Sarah Marshall, I watched it with a few mates out of desparation after I had exhausted everything else on my media player, and we found it to be a work of comedy genius, literally laughed our arses off!
For clarification, there were ladies present who also also enjoyed it, although it is a 'stealth' blokes film disguised as a chick flick. -

Registered 18 years agoI watched a few of his Ponderland's, and thought he was fucking hilarious.
Can easily see how some would find him annoying though.
Still, the one in particular about Brits going abroad in the early 80's was fucking genius. -
I didn't find it distasteful, I didn't find it in bad taste, I just found it cringeworthy. While I can see why people would find it distasteful (I don't personally, but I can see why), what I can't work out is how it was funny. -

Wasn't really a crank call though - Sachs was supposed to be interviewed and didn't bother to answer his phone or let them know he couldn't do it. -

This latest stunt by Brand is abhorent, mind numbingly puerile and utterly, utterly inexcusable.
Unfortunately, it's also fucking funny.
I can't help it, I like the guy. He's a breath of fresh air for TV and radio comedy. -

Don't care about Brand but maybe BBC could sack that talentless waste of money Ross and spend it on something better. Saying shocking things and then brown nosing stars before slagging their films off on Film 08 isn't worth £18mil. -

Would I be correct in assuming you enjoy a bit of cock once in a while?
