Where the hell did Masvidal come from?

From forgotten man, to unbelievable knockout, to epic three punch combination backstage, to declaring he'd fight his own mother for a title shot.

His record is salty. No idea why he's close to title contention given he was on a two-fight losing skid before KOing Till.

Is he close to title contention? I know he thinks he is but does anyone else?

TJ relinquishing the BW title due to an adverse finding by USADA from his fight Vs Cejudo. Oops. Could it have been a diuretic to get him down to 125? Moraes Vs Cejudo anyone?

EDIT: Ariel Helwani says he's been suspended for a year until Jan 2020.

Conor remembers the Khabib fight differently.....

“There was dispute in my last one, I slapped his brother and his cousin on top of the cage, he [Nurmagomedov] tried to jump out and run. This is not over, so there’s dispute, there has to be a rematch.”

@BigOrkWaaagh oof. Presumably Cejudo will now be angling for a shot at the bantamweight belt to try and become another champ-champ? I wouldn't be surprised if they put Cody forward for a chance to win the vacant belt.

Any predictions for Wonderman vs Pettis? I’m expecting Pettis to get lit up on the feet but eventually win the fight on the ground — maybe even from bottom position.

Not sure he will be able to catch him to get him down. I think it will be competitive on the feet though. Not expecting a great fight though as wonderboy, as brilliant as he can be has been responsible for some of the worst fights in recent memory.

@Frogofdoom I think those weird fights with Woodley were outliers because Woodley is such a passive opponent. Their styles didn't mix. I'm expecting Pettis to get dropped but his ground game is super slick, so it wouldn't be out of the question for him to catch a sub while on bottom. A bit like the Benson Henderson fight where he caught an armbar from bottom position.

Personally I think Pettis will get finished on the feet, I don't think Wonderboy is really the best first fight for him at WW, he's bigger, faster and will happily counter him all night long. Agree with Craigy about WB Vs Woodley, the second fight really did him no favours in the public eye, he needs something exciting again to get himself back on the radar and he's more than capable.

Pettis is a fading force, Wonderboy still, just, in the game. I think he’ll win easily.

The most exciting part of the Blaydes fight was when he shat in his shorts.

@Baihu1983 oh really, I watched the event in a hurry so didn't watch the interviews or entrances. Must be mortifying for the poor fuckers it happens to.

Nah Conors hype train would survive another loss.

The whole rape story seems less true with every week that goes by as well imo.

Not sure why, he was dominating that fight until the knockout. And the knockout was basically his own fault - All the fight he'd had great footwork and distance in the centre of the ring. His mistake was not taking the cage into consideration during the finishing sequence. He basically landed a kick to the body, knowing it would push Pettis back and that his distance would be maintained. Only it wasn't because the cage was in the way, which Pettis immediately bounced off and landed the counter from.

Other than that I thought Wonderboy looked great.

    cough

Kinda smug about this. Not that we know for sure he did it, but got a lot of sh*t for this like I'd just made it up or something.

Edit: Though not quite sure why it's breaking now.
