Masvidal is a much different prospect, fights much more creatively and dynamically.

Masvidal is a gatekeeper that has somehow struck it rich. I think most high ranked welterweights would have their way with him.

    Ben Askren proved that.

Well Ben Askren was perfectly scouted, but it didn't really prove anything because it was over so quickly. He did well against Till. Nate is a natural lightweight and although exciting is himself a gatekeeper who was on bum money before red panty night.

I think you are underrating Masvidal quite a bit, he is an excellent striker with some good knockout power.

It wont happen anyway as Dana said he will get Khabib if he beats Ferguson.

Yeah Masvidal is not an easy fight for anyone imo.

You might be right, he's decent enough but this overnight superstardom is a little bit premature imo.

I hope Dana doesn't give Conor Khabib. Khabib doesn't want it and Conor himself just said he's not ready for it. Give him at least one more 'fun' fight, let him beat someone at lightweight at least for crying out loud. He needs to keep this atmosphere going and getting smeshed again isn't going to do him any favours.

I'd love for Ferguson to throw a spanner in the works and beat Khabib.
I can't see Conor fighting khabib anytime soon due to timeframes though. Ferguson/Khabib is in April and depending what happens in that one it's going to be July before either would be ready for that. I still see Conor fighting Masvidal first in April.

Id say Conor fighting Mayweather next is more likely than anything else.

Adesanya Vs Romero for ufc 248. That should be tasty.

I think it's probably an easy win for Adesanya, his movement will be too much for no gay jesus.

Yeah I can see an easy decision win. Very much doubt he will stop him. Saying that I didn't think Whittaker would get hammered so what the fuck do I know 😂

Masvidal can't fight until May at the earliest, his hand is fucked from the Nate fight.

That's the right fight for McGregor to take though. He doesn't need the welterweight belt until fight three. Decks is right, big step up from Donald. Masvidal is a killer and SO HOTTTT RIGHT NOW

We all really knew secretly how shit was really gonna go down, eh?

That leg kick was super impressive I think. Not the technical execution but the way he read cowboy's sidestep so quickly and reacted with such fluidity.

Whatever you think of Conor as a person, there's no denying his presence shakes things up and is exciting.

If he ever went for the WW belt Usman would grind him into a fine paste.

It's UFC though, anything can happen and frequently does with the nature of the game. Yeah, the fights at some of the champ weights are less chaotic in regards to the outcome, the fights are easier to call, but there's still always the chance of getting a kick or left hand in against anybody in the welterweight division and using that to knock em out early. He has the power and seemingly the resolve to do this.

It would be mad not to give in to the possibility that he could win the belt this year if this "adjusted attitude" Conor can sustain the pressure. Six months ago most of you would have lolled at the thought of McGregor Masvidal, but look where we are.

Love him or loathe him (or moderately in between with considered thought), he's in charge again.

He couldnt cope with Khabibs wrestling so there is no way he can handle Usmans. He would be scared to kick as the first one that gets caught sees him on his backside.

Edit. Beat me to it Tonka

Still surprised McGregor never went to boxing after that stupid Mayweather fight. Would he have been a big draw for boxing fans, or would he have been laughed at? I think he would have done OK. Don't think he would have CM Punk'd it.

In UFC he is never going to beat someone who is a top wrestler.

The amount of fawning over McGregor today is nauseating.

He hand-picked a fighter who's not only on the slide, but clearly can't take a shot anymore. 40 seconds later and he's getting a massively undeserved rematch against a fighter who dominated him from round to round. All the meanwhile, Tony Ferguson is completely overlooked, and Justin Gaethje is left out in the cold.

I'd have way more respect for Conor if he took the Gaethje match as his way back into the division, but I don't think he wants any of that heat.

Not sure how Tony is being overlooked here? Unless you mean everyone's assuming Khabib is going to win?

And I think all the fawning is as much to do with the things he's been saying in the build up to the fight as much as the impressive performance. Whether it's genuine is to be determined.

You reckon he can deal with Gaethje's leg kicks?

I think he's savvy enough to avoid them or make the most of the countering opportunity. Dustin coped with them ok.

    Fawning lol.

Cannot wait for the Tony Khabib fight. It's a stacked first quarter of 2020 with Jones and Adesanya defending too.

I think Tony F is one of the only guys who can beat Khabib right now. It's true, he's been overlooked until now, partly cause of Conor, partly cause of injury and partly cause he's unlucky. He's insane and I think he's great. This fight could make him a star, if they both actually get there on the night. Fifth time now yeah, Blakester. We've got three months to talk Tony, ffs!
