rafa get your checkbook out quick
Was just about to paste that link myself. And hands off Rafa, we'll need him ourselves next season when we're in League 1.

Oh and apparently Beckford scored an almost identical goal a week later against Crewe but I can't find a clip of it. Anyone else seen it? -

Scorchio.
Favourite non-Solskjaer United goal:
Ginja Ninja.
The Cantona one v Sunderland that's already been picked is probably on a par, and is (IMHO) THE single gretest celebration of a goal. Ever. -

Not really, he does that with both his feet... Trivela is the name of that kick (He did one much better than this two against Chelsea, unfortunetly for us it hitted the bar) -

In terms of 'how good was the goal', not really. In terms of 'how similar did the last couple of seconds look', quite a bit, actually.
Messi vs. Getafe
Maradona, anyone?
Has he been injured much this season, by the way? -

Registered 17 years agoI dont know. In terms of individual skill, pace, balance and the number of players he beat on the way I'd say it was at least the equal of Maradona's.
It has to be beaten someday you know

Registered 18 years agoMaradona in World Cup QF vs. one of the top international sides in the world = Messi in a league game vs. a middle of the table Spanish club side?
Have you seen how many 'great' goals get scored in the lower leagues of English football?
edit: forgive the tone, I think I come across as flippant and/or aggressive at this time of night. I don't mean it.

Registered 15 years agoIt's easy to get carried away, great goal by Messi, but not as good as Maradona's in my opinion, even though they are similar.
Messi was injured for about 3 months I believe it was between the end of last year and the beginning of 2007, so he is in great shape right now, one of the fittest Barcelona players at the moment. -

Registered 18 years agoI figured he must have been injured, don't remember hearing much about him at other times in the season. -

Maradona's trumps it purely because of the occassion and opposition. Sure, England weren't great, but better than Getafe.
