Well I'm back in Thailand for Christmas with some friends I made while traveling through the first time around.

I'm in Hatyai, South Thailand! Off the tourist trail. Might do Malaysia next. Not sure.

I'm off to the Fijian province in Cuba next year. April 11 to May 1.

Those of you who have read REAMDE have heard of Xiamen and especially Gulangyu.

I will also visit the round fortresses and do some gliding down rivers on bamboo rafts.

Flight to Shanghai and from Shanghai so will probably see a bit there as well, been there before so won't spend too much time.

Hi everyone. I was in Krakow just a couple days ago and it is a pretty nice city. There is a Christmas fair there and a lot of street food. So do not miss your chance to visit this beautiful city ;)

Think it's UK Asians. I don't think that covers him.
I don't like calling them Asians, wish there was a better term. "Light brown" is racist according to my kids....

Anything in particular worth seeing in San Francisco? I'm going to be there for 5 days in April. Any particular areas good to stay in?

I actually had quite a few people contact me to check. Was pretty shocking given I was out there with my family too. =/

I'm interested in this too, we are doing a west coast trip in the summer. Plus the Mid West. Plus NYC. Would still rather go to Japan...

My Olympics trip is in jeopardy for next year. I was originally supposed to be doing a MTB race in the US this year, but thanks to injuries that's all gone out of the window. I have another chance in 2020... but it's on in the last week of the Olympics.

Would mean I basically lose the last two weeks of prep to go out to Japan. Possibly not an issue (you're supposed to rest up before events), but I also need to be doing altitude adjustment.

Where's the nearest mountain to Tokyo... and does it have hotels on it?!?

2 weeks until we take a family holiday to Phuket. (My Wife and I and our 2-year old).

We have booked 2 different hotels for 5 nights each (attending an Indian Wedding hence the change).

Anyone visited the famous Aquarium? Trying to work out if itís worth taking our little marine explorer.

Any other tips would be appreciated.

@Psychotext It is Japan, there are mountains everywhere. Nearest one I specifically went to climb near Tokyo was Takao and then Fuji a bit further out. Not sure how cyclable they are but if it is just altitude Fuji seems your man.

@Darth_Flibble We are totally on the other side actually. More south/east side. We are going Ďupper classí and 5* hotelling it, to give ourselves a break, so hopefully should avoid problems.

I figured as Iím not going to be allowed to splurge on gadgets and tech this year, might as well splurge on a holiday. 😀

Probably wouldn't be for cycling. Would need to find a hotel so I could sleep at altitude... but I suspect that would be too far from the events. =/

@Psychotext Fuji's base is a few hours away, I know they have base camps so may have accomodation there. Worth looking into at least.
