Yeah, it's a clown show as always with BA IT. I love how they worded the email to make it sound like it wasn't a mistake.

@smoothpete call them and cry. I believe they have to book you on another flight. Call now and don't wait until the last second.

They donít have to get you another flight unless you are stuck somewhere, in situations like this youíd just get a refund.

They don't HAVE to, but they're rebooking anyone where there's an option.

Have a look for flights with Oneworld carriers and they should switch you to them.

BA are the worst airline I've flown, on balance. They have everything: shitty booking systems, premium prices, old knackered fleet, terrible customer service and treat their staff awfully.

I don't know how they're still in business

Not just still in business, but enjoying a bit of a boom at the moment (which is partly where this strike comes from).

Oh for fucks sake. Got 5 weeks planned in Vietnam in december. 4 weeks solo, then for Christmas supposed to meet up with mates who live there for a week and chill and catch up and maybe pop to indonesia.

They have now decided to hire a boat and do a big thing, which means probably 2 grand for a week. I only wanted to spend 2 grand in the whole month. Is it worth doubling the budget just to see komodo island? Kind of feel if I was out there I should as it is on the bucket list but still...

Didn't they basically ban people going there? Or has that not started yet?

Oh wow! Cheers for that. In that case it is definitely worth throwing on a credit card as may never have the chance again

Just booked our 2 day tour for Beijing. At least for those couple of days we can be less terrified of the language barrier!

@Psychotext If you want to learn anything, then I'd recommend the "HelloChinese" app which is free. I use it and have learnt a hell of a lot quickly.

My brain sadly doesn't take in languages at all. I'll definitely have a translator app ready with "Sorry, I'm an ignorant British person and I can only speak English".

I did Jiankou to Mutianyu and much preferred Jiankou, it was wild, beautiful, reclaimed by nature and there was no-one there, where we ended in Mutianyu was all restored with lots of people and far less enjoyable. Hopefully Psychotext's tour goes away from the busy bit.

Jienkou is awesome too. Good mix to see both in the same tour. I must have been lucky at Mutianyu because we had it to ourselves.

Gorgeous evening. Could see for miles and miles. The party of Jienkou I saw was so overgrown that it was hard to make our where the wall was. It was an excellent adventure, but there's something special about seeing the wall snake away into the distance.

It was also very foggy when I went to Jienkou and that probably lessened my awe a bit.

I was sweating like a pig when I was at Jienkou. Hot, humid and constant climbing.

In a few years the kids will be old enough to go there. I'm really looking forward to it. How long did your walk take?

Think it was 5 hours plus 1h15 to get to the start of the wall.

Do any of you scuba dive, or have you ever wanted to visit South Africa?

You may have seen me mention that I was in South Africa at the beginning of the year to produce a couple of underwater films.

I wanted to share with you the first ad that we released for a wonderful dive centre there. Perhaps it'll motivate you to make an African excursion :)

Would love to know what you think.
