| For the first time in yonks, I had delivery not turn up on time. Was meant to be a same day delivery between 6-10pm. I'm secretly pleased. Gonna complain tomorrow to get a free month of Prime as compensation. |

Registered 13 years agoI’ve got to give Amazon credit today. Had ordered a 3DS XL from them (second hand) prior to holidays tomorrow. Address states clearly to leave parcel in secure parcel box. So I’m at work at 3pm and get a message saying they had ‘failed to deliver’. Properly furious. Head home at 4.30 in a really bad mood. Turned out the courier made a second stop on his way home, and caught me in the 5 minutes I was in the house prior to leaving on another errand. So now I have the 3DS for my holiday! Cheers Amazon. -

Yep. I seem to find quite a few items on Amazon with same day delivery these days (for Prime members).

I used live chat to complain today and they didn't give me a free month of Prime this time, but added a £5 credit to my account. -

Registered 15 years agoHoly shit, you can literally see my computer screen from my front door and in the 7 seconds or so it took me to get there from the doorbell ringing, the guy had already started heading back to his car. -

I swear they must fancy them or something. -

Registered 16 years agoNow all they have to do is improve the service to the point this would apply to other people too and they're all good
As is though, not very good service overall if so many of us have issues with them. -

Registered 16 years ago@b-rk Last time that happened with me, I eventually found out the van had broken down.
Can't remember if I ever got the parcel or not.
Suspect not. -

Registered 16 years agoAmazon Delivery have been "unable to gain access to the front door to deliver the parcel" for the last two days despite the delivery address being an Amazon Locker. That's some expert level incompetence. -

Registered 10 years agoSo this hasn't happened before...
I ordered Super Smash Bros: Ultimate from Amazon and it arrived as normal. Opened up the enveloped and notice the seal had been broken, the opened it up to find someone has opened up the seal just enough to get their fingers in the case and nick the game card before closing it back up, replacing the seal as best they could, and sticking it in the envelope.
To their credit Amazon immediately sent out a replacement without me having to return anything or provide nay proof of the tampering... but the bare faced cheek of it! Did they think I wouldn't notice?
I'm just glad it was a purchase for me and not a gift. Anyone else had their Switch games nicked before they were even sent? -

That happened to friends of mine. Except they didn't notice until they tried to return it to Game (they also received a copy from there as a birthday present, and opened that instead of the Amazon one and thought it would be easier). They were mortified when the bloke in the shop showed them. Amazon refunded though no bother though.

Waaaaay back in the early days of Amazon ('99 or so), when they were still known as a book-seller more than anything else (and were only just branching out into music, movies and games), I remember grouping up my orders from them to qualify for the free delivery (you had to spend £40 on an order to qualify for that at the time).

I remember one delivery, for a mixture of books and DVDs, arriving with the box very clearly having been opened and re-sealed. All of the DVDs were gone, while the books had been left behind. Amazon were good about it and re-shipped the DVDs. Their phone support (this was still the primary means of reaching them back then) implied it wasn't the first time and that they would put in a police report.
Not long after, my local post office was raided and a good number of the staff were arrested. -

Ordered a phone from Amazon. Dispatched the same day, can see on the tracker it leaves Leicester then...delayed in transit. The delivery date passes. A few more days pass.
Get in touch to try and get a replacement. Exactly the same thing happens. "Delayed in transit".
Asked for a refund. "Wait 10 days" still no refund. Contact customer services again, and I've been told the amount will be refunded within 5 days. They actually sent me an email this time confirming it though.
But we'll see. will open a dispute through my bank if not. -
Amazon 'lost' a delivery of a phone to me before (iirc that actually happened twice over the years). Amazon were very quick to send a replacement, didn't bat an eyelid even.
I have a feeling theft by (presumably) delivery workers, Amazon or otherwise, is rather common. -
They "lost" a PS4 Pro of mine around the time it came out. Funny how they only ever seem to lose high value items.
