Apart from Gameplay, Play, Amazon, Gamestation and GAME, are there any other decent websites selling brand-new UK games?

I'm specifically looking for Metroid Prime 2 and Timesplitters: Future Perfect for the GameCube (and preferably not at rip-off prices). Both are sold-out in all the aforementioned websites (GAME does seem to have MP2 in stock, but I would never trust them to send me a sealed copy). And of course, GC games are very hard to find in stores. Can anyone help?

cd-wow.com are pretty good, but often quite pricey. Other than that, I'd agree with Amazon Marketplace. Both the prices and service are better with the third-party merchants than Amazon itself now.

How trustworthy are they though - it's a bit like ebay, right? They may say it's 'new' but it doesn't necessarily mean it will be.

Looks ok, Kay. Bear in mind, if you're not happy, you can claim the money back via Amazon. They do seem to police the sellers pretty well. If I see anyone with less than 90% positive feedback I usually avoid them though.

My game collection would be a quarter of what it is without A.M.

I've bought a few books from Amazon marketplace that have been either new or second-hand. I've never had any problems and the second-hand stuff is usually as-new. Most of the sellers seem to be proper independent book stores that just use Amazon as another store-front.

Don't know about games. I guess it wouldn't be much different.

    What he said.

I got my GTA triple pack from AMP for 12.99 and it was mint, and arrived the day after I ordered it.

I use AMP all the time. It's like Ebay but without the c*nts

Amazon's listing guidelines are umabiguous as to what "New" should mean. If it's listed as "New" with no sub-qualification the item should come sealed in its original packaging. I'd link to their guidelines but the link appears to be broken. Plus there's the Safe Buying Guarantee if the item is materially different from what it was listed as.

I might give that Marketplace a try then. Just a shame that the cheapest Timesplitters price is 34.

My local WH Smith and Gamestation have had new copies of MP2 for a fiver the last few weeks.

I've been tempted a few times.. a fiver? For a new GC game? Then i remember that MP was shit and that i can't be bothered to unpack the GC so i don't bother.

kay. how does 15 sound for MP2 delivered? i've opened it and played it for about 2 hours and unfortunatly i've already had the points. i have to admit i'd be making a bit of a profit since i got it at rockbottom prices from wh smiths last week, but i want to get a copy of yakuza and that'll really help. if you're interested drop me a mail (in profile - but let me know on here since i hardly check my gmail)

Where is 'local' exactly, Fozzie? Or, if you don't mind, you could buy a copy to send to me and I'll give you a tenner for it.

15 pre-owned is a little too much I'm afraid. If anyone can buy a brand-new copy for a fiver and send it to me for 10, I would be very grateful.

Amazon Marketplace is great, as the sellers on there have to adhere to Amazon's rules.
Amazon state that you should expect the same service from an independent seller as you would from Amazon itself.
I haven't had ANY problems whatsoever buying second hand stuff from Amazon MP, and have always found the service excellent in the 100's of purchases I have made there.

Well games in WHSmith are gutted so they aren't exactly brand new and sealed. The games I own are all in better shape than stores that gut (and smell better too).

You could try PaidPeanuts , it's a site a mate and I set up to check prices between a number of the larger sites. It also tells you how much their postage is so you can really pick the cheapest.
Let me know what you think of the site.

Gamestation do it new for 10 mate, I can pop in at the weekend if you want and see if they've got one but I wouldn't risk using there dodgy internet site, people never seem to get their orders from it.

Let me know nearer the weekend if you haven't got it sorted before hand (bump this thread on Friday in other words)
