The ending could have been 40 minutes of Hayden Panetierre being mauled by wild bears and it still wouldn't have made up for the unbearable awfulness of the 2nd and especially 3rd season

    Wow.
I really enjoyed Series 1 but then it became more and more shit.
    Can't believe it's coming back.

I've still to watch the last five episodes or so. Just couldn't drag myself to do it.

Season 1 was great at the time, didn't hold up to repeat viewings very well, but I loved it when it first aired. Went completely down the toilet after that. But the problem was it was meant to be stand alone seasons, like American Horror Story or True Detective. By the time they got to the end of the season 1, they lost their nerve and decided to keep them. By that point, however, Peter was so powerful they could never sustain it. He should have died at the end of season 1 like he was meant to.

Part of me is strangely interested in what they do with a 13 episode season. If it has a proper ending in place it could be alright. Potential is there, anyway.

Almost afraid to say I liked almost all of it. (Except maybe Sylar's Nathan scizophrenia)

Anto and Hiro's super awesome magical funtime adventures was a nice arc too.

No! Anto and Hiro's stuff was terrible. Awful slapstick 'comedy' that never went anywhere. I was so tired of Hiro schtick by the end of it - especially when I realised we were never, ever going to see him become future-Hiro with the sword etc.
  • Deleted user 23 February 2014 12:22:31
Yeah, loved the first season until the damp ending then it spiralled.

I think the writer's strike might have not helped but that second series was awful. By the time Mahinder turned into the Fly I stopped.

I'll undoubtedly give this a try but I thing the over saturation of everything super will count against it.

My brain had removed that from my mind. Thank you for putting it back.

Realistically if Bryan Fuller isn't involved (and he won't be thanks to Hannibal) then in all likelihood this will be shite. He was the main driving force behind pretty much everything that was decent about it. When he left it went downhill, when he (briefly) returned it was for one of the strongest episodes I'd seen for a years. Then it became shit again.

Although I'd far rather he stayed away and kept Hannibal great!

It should have been cancelled before the first season finale and it would have been fondly remembered as something that died before its time rather than loathed as the directionless mess it became.

I haven't been tempted to go back. The reviews weren't good either. Don't think they've learned anything.

I'd forgotten how good Heroes looked at times. The visual style is really nice. Unfortunately the plot and characters still seem a bit lacking.

I really loved the first couple of series of heroes. I got into the whole sylar and peter storyline. Just a shame how the show ended up....

Just seen the trailer for Heroes Reborn. Looks like Hiro has been teleporting in to a lot of cake shops.

I saw a trailer for this yesterday on Five while I was watching the first episode of X Files. I'm not sure whether to bother really, it tanked in the states and they've already said it's not being renewed. Doesn't seem much point.

Yeah I'm kind of with you. First season was good and it just turned in to liquid dog shit the longer it went on.

I got about half way through Heroes Reborn and gave up on it, it's worse than the last series of Heroes, a feat I didn't think possible.

    Absolutely shite.

You know a show is shit when Channel 5 pick it up.

Completely forgot about this. I knew it was coming back, but had no idea is was back already. And looks awful. Like a Sci-Fi channel movie.

I'm just working my way through the first season of Gotham onNetflix and it's amazing! Started "ok", but it has really ramped up. Channel 5 picked this up.

    In general though, yeah.

So was the original series after the first season. Never understood why anyone kept watching it or even enjoying it. They clearly had no clue what to do with the story they started.

I forgot this was on but was just channel flicking last night and it was just starting so gave it a watch. Wasn't nearly as bad as was made out I thought. Just felt like Heroes really to be honest. Still not sure whether top bother though if it's just going to end on a Cliffhanger never to be seen again. We got that with the original show.

It gets progressively worse and there's some hilarious stupidity to not show a certain character's face because they didn't get this person back.
