It's definitely better than someone ending up with something they don't want.

Maybe... I don't know though. If it was something interesting I didn't want, I think I'd prefer it. Present giving is about imagination.

Thats why I always tell people to imagine I got them a present.

In real life, at least, vouchers say "I bought you this because I had to, not because I wanted to".

I'm not saying vouchers are a great gift, but I had precisely two ideas for what to buy for my secret present receiver, and if I hadn't found one of them then I'd have had to consider it.

Vouchers are perhaps the best present. No thought required, easy to pick up and 'buy yourself what you want'...
You sent the voucher, didn't you?

I've got mine! I've got mine!

Nicely wrapped it was too, a lot of effort made - In fact it was so well wrapped I would've assumed it had been sent by a girl... but no girls signed up. Hmm...

Anyway, I digress, I am now the proud owner of my very own Ken doll.

/pops out to pick up a barbie to stop him getting lonely

    Muchos thanks Mr "?"

edit: Oh - and I've just realised that my present is so secret that it's not even evident that it's come from anyone on EG. Bugger. It's been sent direct from the retailer - hopefully the recepient will think "WTF?!" and then remember the secret santa thing. Sowwy.

I've got mine! I've got mine!

Big thanks to the chap that sent 'Hidden and Dangerous' for the Dreamcast. They must have put in a bit of research to know that I spend all my time on my beloved DC! \o/

It was in work this morning waiting for me :D

Shallow Grave which is indeed mega and in my opinion better than Trainspotting (except for the Archie Gemmell bit), Casino games so I can practice my poker and a Pacman keyring which now has pride of place on my Irish keys :D
