As I understand it, if you exchange 7 mails with somebody, it unlocks a quest which rewards you with a new Job. I think you need to mail the npc Topapo (or whatever he is called) as well.
That is the extent of it, as far as I know, not earth-shattering, but I am now enjoying returning to a town from adventuring and finding mails from folks, but then I am easily amused.
Oh, and the typing your mail interface is rather annoying, but I shall ignore that because, y'know, Moogles are nice... -

Registered 15 years agoit's wierd, maybe it just takes a little while after you have both added each other to un-grey them, or maybe it only happens after you both add and then connect.
I do not know, but all the codes I have added have been gray for a bit, then white. -

Registered 18 years agoThe "helpful" manual says that both need to add & connect before mails can be sent. I suppose some server side magicks are also neccessary before a thoughtful exchange about the finer points of life can occur.
It's not much, herod, but I do enjoy mailing around. Seems I'm easily amused as well.
That said, I'll add anyone who posts his friend code, and reply to anyone who sents me something. -

Weird, I got a mail from you, and your number changed to "hoof" - yet I couldn't mail you back.
At the same time Mirko's number did become white, so I sent him a mail.

Registered 17 years agoOk, I'm about 10 hours in, and it's pretty sweet. Just wondering if any of you guys are playing with the stylus? I tried it for a while, and it's pretty much as fast as using the buttons for most things, and there's nothing actually wrong with it... but somehow Iit just doesn't feel right.
Anyway, my friend code is 2835 5301 4532.
(I can't wait till I can get a Wii, and just have one code for every game...) -
in the process of adding the two new guys.
i ditched the stylus, i'm faster with buttons.
course, stylus destroys buttons when you're writing mognets
