I hated the DLC it felt like more of the worst parts of the game (waves of enemies, little atmosphere or story) to me

Or at least that's how I remember if

The Signal was definitely like that. The Writer was a bit more inventive.

I can't really play this anymore without seeing an enemy spawn and thinking in my head "servants of Oryx, inbound".

It's too bad that Remedy never fixed the combat in the main game with the improvements from American Nightmare, anyhow.

We all agree that a fantasy sequel would be like LA Noire meets Alan Wake with open world mystery solving to help drive the night time darkness and combat sections, right?

Any sign of this discount on Steam for anyone else yet?
It's still at 23 for me...

Never got around to the dlc's but loved the game, music licensing is killing a lot of old games, mostly driving games I liked.
It worked perfectly in this game but yah less licensed music and more original scores please.

Anyone that has never played it needs to pick it up for that price. One of my favourite original titles from the last generation. Just loved the setting and characters.

I actually never got round to finishing it, so may just do so now. I was enjoying the story to be honest, but the combat really was utter shite.

I do still have it installed and with my save though :) which was a pleasant surprise.

    10th anniversary of Alan Wake

    https://www.gog.com/news/looking_back_at_the_iconic_alan_wake_as_it_celebrates_its_10th_anniversary

The one Microsoft exclusive I still miss since going back to Sony this gen.

Would still love to see a proper sequel, maybe a bit more open world and more investigative stuff, a bit less on the waves of dudes combat.

I wish I had the equipment to play it again.

Yeah, was always a favourite of mine. I'd love a remaster of sorts of the first (though a sequel would be better)

I'd love to see the original concept - a more Twin Peaks style investigation than a survival horror. I'd also settle for a sequel, or even a remaster.

Tenth!? Feels like longer,I swear I bought it whilst studying at uni but obviously not.

Edit: ahhh nope I was studying for my work exams.

I'm hopeful for a sequel, remedy have stated many times they want to make a sequel. They've recently signed a big publishing agreement as well and there are plenty of Alan wake links in control.

Not sure where to post this! Just downloaded Alan Wake on PC as part of the Xbox Game Pass for PC service and I'm getting crashes as the game starts up. Tried reinstalling, have the latest drivers etc. Anyone else getting the same issue? On a GTX 1060 6GB

Hmm, I have it on PC and never had any issues. Barely played it mind (I really don't get along with the combat) Mine is the Steam version though.

Anything relevant in the event logs? Or perhaps there's an AW-specific log file in the install folder that might give you a clue?

I also tried a quick Google for 'alan wake pc crashes on launch' and found a number of threads that could be relevant, you might want to try the same?

I bought AW for PC via Steam a while back. No issues on that front. Maybe it's a GP/Windows Store thing?
