I'd think that would be the case. After all they are using the FFIII DS engine for FFIV (doesn't FF:CC so far look very much like them, BTW?), and why waste a perfectly fine DQIX engine on just one game when there are 8 to remake?

    Good news for a change - it's not a simplified button-masher after all. :-)

Ahhhh...thats got to be the best news possible. No random battles and its not a simple action RPG button masher...crisis resolved.

    Famitsu scan.

Looks very like DQVIII. Almost disappointingly so.

It sort of looks like DQVIII, if DQVIII was a girl walking along a red carpet...

What are we talking about here, exactly? I'm super-confused. More so than usual.

Oh wait - is this that stupid fucking site that sometimes gives you pictures of celebs instead of the picture that you actually linked to?

Try this one instead. Stupid fucking thing.

That's more like it. Or not, I guess, depending on whether you prefer that hot girl in the first link, or Famitsu scans in the second :D

    Bumpy.

According to Bloomberg, Yoichi Wada said in an interview that DQ IX is "about done". They are currently busy making fine adjustments and balancing the single vs. multiplayer components.

In that interview he also states that they want to make more Wii games and how they like WiiWare, blablahbla... DQ IX!!!!

According to VG247 DQ IX has been out for 6 months already. I completely missed it. How much on first weeks sales?

How long has it been in production now? Are they waiting for the DSII to be announced?

That makes all kids of sense except economical so probably YES

There is no way they'll release DQIX before the IV-VI have made the rounds. I'd guess Golden Week 09?

Will it be on a standard cartridge, or larger ROM for bigger game? Am concerned that it won't be as sizable as say DQ8, for example.

Oh and - it looks amazing.

This game's visuals look amazing. Even better than DQM: Joker's (which I happen to think are pretty snazzy as they are).

I was a bit worried when they first announced this for the DS. One of the things I loved about DQVIII was its scale, and with a top-down perspective I think DQIX will struggle to live up to that game's epicness. But this latest trailer has proven that it has the potential to be a great game in its own right, and that's fine by me.

Is that just some snap on?
Clever. That explains the new design with "knobly" hinges.
