Registered 17 years agoThought of the shuffle, but one supporting playlists and with a screen would be preferable. -

Registered 17 years ago2 GB nano, £99, most likey one he could actually use. I know it's not cool to recommend an iPod in these parts, but they are still the best, and you can get a mains charger for peanuts. -

Registered 18 years agoHow long does Flash Ram last nowadays?
My old muvo died a year ago and i'm a bit dubious about getting a flash based player as they have a limited lifespan, i was wondering if the new models have any longevity issues? -

Why is 'my dad' in inverted commas?
... No reason really, other than these are normally 'recommend me...' threads. -

Registered 17 years agoI did look at those Fruit_Salad, but given it may be taken on a four month round-the-world cruise where access to a USB port will be difficult at best, something running on one AAA battery or that comes with it's own charger would be preferable. I believe you can buy chargers for things like the Ipod shuffle. -

Registered 18 years agoCreative Nano's are good. You get about 18 hours off one AAA, dunno if play lists are supported though. The gf loves hers. -

Go on ebay and get a cheap one. I had a no-name 512mb player that worked fine for aages. Miles better than a Shuffle as well - it had a screen, for starters. The only reason I'm not using it now is ... well, it's only 512mb.
