    Not hard to guess why.

Hadn't realised they ever did it for consoles!

Luckily I managed to price match and trade in my PS3 earlier in the week.

Undoubtedly they'll have thousands of people trading in both 360s and PS3s in the coming weeks - the price will plummet.

I wonder how many people aren't aware that the PS4 and Xbone aren't backwards compatible? There's sure to be some kids asking their parents why they can't play their old game anymore, as well as being PO'ed at realising their savegames weren't backed up.

Nobody gives a shit about games they bought a couple of months ago, why should they care about backward compatibility?

Because some people might trade in their old console assuming they can use their old games on the new system? Not everyone trades in/sells off their old games, you know.

You would hope people would do the slightest amount of research before shelling out hundreds of pounds on a new piece of kit. It's really their own fault if they don't know what they're buying.

Not according to their website they haven't, guessing it is your local store manager being a prick.

My local GAME always give me pre-order items/DLC for free when I go in to say hi. No complaints :)

Christmas dinner in a tin. That’s apparently what GAME could shortly be selling in its stores.

It’s called the Christmas Tinner and consists of nine layers of processed festive food, as demonstrated in the picture below. Apparently the chain has actually trialled this product in its Basingstoke store and is considering a national rollout “if there is enough gamer demand”.

How said “demand” will be measured remains unspecified. Although we do know that it will cost £1.99 per tin if it comes to fruition.

The justification for this lunacy? According to GAME: “According to new research almost half (43 per cent) of the nation’s gamers plan to spend the majority of Christmas day playing on their new consoles and games.

“That’s why retailer GAME has developed the Christmas Tinner, enabling gamers to get their teeth into GAME play all day without having to miss out on a mouthful of their favourite food or do the washing-up.”

Anyone have any idea what this shower of bastards would offer me for an old xbox 360 elite, couple of joypads, GTA V, Diablo III, Batman Arkham City, Bioshock Infinite and some dodgy old games? Tuppence I expect...

That Christmas Tinner looks truly repulsive... Did anyone actually buy it during the trial or did they just slip it into unsuspecting shoppers' bags?

I would doubt that thing has ever actually existed, it's amazing how many websites have given GAME tons of publicity for virtually no expense on their part.

I feel like griping about GAME. No branch phone number on their site, just an 0870 number followed by an automated service which couldn't understand the phrase "Circle Pad Pro". I told it to get stuffed several times, after which it connected me to a recording telling me that due to a technical issue, no actual person could answer my call.

I googled around for the branch number (found on twitter) and phoned only to meet with confusion, uncertainty about what a circle pad pro is, and a recommendation to order it online. Which I have, from Amazon.

In game yesterday looking for a Google play voucher, overheard a dad and his son ask a 'helper'  how much just the xbox one console is '£500 but that does come with a game'  replied the helper, so I kindly pointed out the rrp of the xbox and told him he would be better of getting it somewhere else.

I was in the Milton Keynes GAME store today and my God, the prices are a joke! They were selling Super Mario 3D World for £49.99! Fuck off you con artists!
This is why I buy all my games online.

I went in to buy AC4 on Wii U, where every single box was the special edition with some DLC thing except one. I took that up to buy, and she disappeared and took that one standard edition off the shelf. I asked why and she said they didn't have any of the edition with the DLC.

It wasn't her fault of course, but where did those other games (at least 9 boxes on the shelf) go? I assume it was just a code on a bit of paper, so are staff helping themselves?

Not really the thread for it, but there isn't a "minor curiosity due to poor stock control" thread :p

They were probably promotional dummy boxes. Should really take them down mind.

Game often aren't too bad on price now. 22 for ac4 and 10 for Skyrim for example, both which are better than amazon. Others like bf4 cheaper as well. The ones I've been in all also have console stock (although only if you buy the mega bundles).
