Registered 13 years agoThey only offer £24 cash though. So not much difference. (£28 trade). -

Registered 5 years agoGAME are also in that awkward position of selling brand new games alongside their second hand stock. They need to keep those publishers happy, which means their second hand stock can't really impact the sales of new titles. That's usually why their 2nd hand sale prices are so high.
This in turn impacts how much they will offer for your stuff. They're not likely to sell your 2nd hand game at near full-price and they can't massively undercut that brand new price as it'll upset the publishers (who will have a huge influence over game whilst they're struggling anyway).
So, rather than offer you a decent amount for your game, expecting it to sell anytime soon, they'll offer you a price that will reflect how long it will likely take to sell the game, at which point they'll be selling it for 15-20 quid less than they are currently.
Not to sympathise with GAME at all here. I hate them as much as everyone else. But this is likely why you're getting the 22 quid, rather than 35, for example.
Don't worry though. Once they go bust you can guarantee CeX will cut how much cash they offer in half and push up the prices of the stock they sell. They have no distributors to appease and the general public will have no other high street alternatives.

Registered 5 years agoYeah I wouldn't be expecting anything more for Surge 2. It'll probably be £22 new in a couple of weeks. -

Registered 10 years agoMaybe I had unrealistic expectations...After a single week of release, I had expected the bare minimum half of what I paid. -

Or just give it a month before buying new releases, by then unless it's a guaranteed seller like FIFA the price will have fallen anyway

Registered 15 years agoImportant email from GAME regarding your local store. (its not my local and never has been)
The Oldham store will close on the 31st December. Your new local store is Manchester Arndale. Maybe on a map its closer but its easier to park at the Trafford centre.
Anyone else receive a local store closing email?
Edited by Nitrous at 11:04:03 23-12-2019 -
I don't think there as been anything that could even remotely be classed as a local store near me for years now. Says it all that I didn't actually find out it had closed until around 3 years after it had.

Registered 15 years agoNo signs of my local one closing. That said, I was in town on Saturday and while most shops were rammed, I wouldn't have put Game as more than "busy-ish".
February/March is when we get to find which of our highstreet retailers have been eliminated from the latest round of the retail Hunger Games. -

Registered 13 years agoGiven the game is free I am assuming the codes give credit to buy tat in the in game store?
Why is there a limit on the number of codes they can sell?
I can possibly understand limiting the amount a person purchases but not the amount the shop sells.
Or was the £350 all on fortnite codes?
