"...but it's still a unique experience and pretty entertaining overall." Clearly, in 10 years even average blockbusters will look like Avatar. This is why I have no impulse to see it, as I firmly believe it will be bettered immensely in time. Also Smurfs songs would be in my head for most of it. |

So am I the only one that really just enjoys the film? I like it. 3D makes it better, but I can live without it, I think it's a great little film. Sure, the story isn't original, but I don't care.
Calling Avatar little is a bit rich.
What? I didn't mean it was little in scale, I just tend to type stuff the way I speak. I'm not the type of person to carefully plan every little word (except that use of little was on purpose), I just type it. Now enough of this necroquoting shenanigans.
And for what it's worth, you are a little rich. That doesn't even make sense as an insult, if anything it's a compliment, but I stand by it. Rich man. -

Registered 18 years agoIt just got my attention. I've only heard the words "a great little film" used to describe indie type films. Like erm... Sideways maybe.
I just thought it funny to use it for one of the most bombastic films I've ever seen. Not meant to hurt anyones feelings.
And fwiw, I sometimes feel a little bit rich! -

That's a ridiculous thing to say - the fact that it will inevitably be superseded doesn't make it any less entertaining or impressive to look at today.
Do you shun all current technology as it all be dated in 10 years anyway? -

Registered 15 years agoI hate to be an utter dick, but, are people still talking about this film? It's not that great is it. It's arite, and that's about it. I can't see 3D, so watching it just as a film I thought it was average at best and I am utterly bewildered by the love of it. One of the most overrated films of my lifetime. Each to their own and all that though. -

Registered 16 years agoThe problem is that the 3D is so well done you have to see it like that - it's the first time I've really felt 3D is where it's always wanted to be.
As just a movie, yeah, it's alright like. -

Registered 17 years agoVisually the film is nice, the 3D is good. But the film is total dogshit. The 3D makes it an enjoyable experience to watch, but I watched the film recently in 2D and it's a boring piece of shit.

Registered 14 years agoIt's very much a cinematic experience in 3D, which I did get pretty swept up in and enjoyed.
As a film I agree it's pretty average, and probably won't be so great watched on the tellybox or in 2D.
Cloverfield was another example of a film i thought was great in the cinema, but pretty average watching for the second time at home. -
