coming from a 6plus rocking iOS 11 so it should be a bit of a jump, no issues with the size as they are the same but a mega screen jump I guess. -

Isn't the back button gone from modern Android too? I was very surprised when I saw a left arrow in the upper left corner practically everywhere on a friend's brand new phone.
As for the functionality, design guidelines specify that the physical (or soft navigation) back button is the "back" button, whilst the arrow in the top left is the "up" button...
Back navigates through history, whilst up navigates through hierarchy. So imagine a generic news app, picking a category and reading a bunch of articles. The back button will take you back to the previous article, the up button will take you back to the category selection...
Still this is Android, so who cares about the design guidelines?

Registered 18 years agoOh god, forgot about Yodel. Here was me bemoaning getting UKMail for my watch, prefer DPD and UPS by a mile.
That said, UKMail gave me a time slot, which is a first from them ime, and delivered within 20 minutes of the start time. Think they’re merging with DHL in some way, maybe this has improved them, dunno.
Don’t get to play with it till I get home later. -

I preordered an XR earlier, 64 GB, black. Would have loved the yellow one but not with the tacky golden frame.

Bought an 8 Plus a couple of days ago (my first iPhone). Got a great trade-in price on my Pixel 2 - which had really started to chug over the past month or so. I'm sure there's no connection between that and the Pixel 3 release - and I had some birthday cash squirreled away as my parents like to send their cheques really early (it's not until next month), so ended up paying £280 of 'real money' for it.
It's not the most exciting hardware design, but it's faster and slicker than every other phone I've had. Which is what you'd expect from Apple, I guess.
