On the other hand, if you bought the XS, would you constantly look at it and think 'that absolutely wasn't worth it. That 300 quid would have been better spent on coke and hookers'?
It is an odd one. The XR is manifestly the best bet, right down to the storage tiers being more sensible. -

Registered 13 years agoTheres internet rumours that they cost at least as much as the XS screen due to the economies of scale and the work needed to fit the form factor.
Many, many, many moons ago one of my bros was a citroen salesman. He said the standard poverty trim on their cars came with a casette player rather than the CD player even though in the mid-2000s it cost more to produce just to provide that extra nudge to go bigger. -

Registered 9 years agoI think the worst part is other manufacturers are now more expensive too. MKBHD was explaining on the Joe Rogan podcast that the google pixel 3 is now almost $200 more expensive than the pixel 2 when it launched, and nobody batted an eyelid. -

Registered 7 years agoI was always looking at an x, so when the Xs max came out and it was just £100 more, I went all in. Like other here I only upgrade something like 4 years, and therefore try to go top tier when I do. I does help I work at Argos and got 10% off plus a year to pay for it on the store card. -

Registered 13 years agoIf you are the kind of person that would splash out on an OLED tv rather than a basic LCD then you are the kind of person that is going to notice the difference between the two. That’s how I looked at it anyway. -

Registered 13 years agoI went from an oled on my S8 back to an iPhone 7 and, yeah, the difference is obviously noticeable but it's a phone. You can't really compare it to the use case on a massive TV.
The screen on the Samsung is much nicer but it's a 5 inch rectangle I hold a foot away from my face. I'd rather have it than not but it's absolutely not worth the premium I'm this instance.
But, as has been said, the fact that most other handsets at this still premium price have it isn't a great look. -

Registered 13 years agoWhatever screen you have, you very soon get used to it in my experience. As long as you don’t also have an oled phone that you regularly use I can’t see myself particularly missing it. On the other hand, I spend far, far longer looking at my phone than any other screen, so I’d go for the best available given the choice -

Registered 5 months agoAnyone ever replaced the vibration motor on an iPhone? Iphone 6s to be exact. If this is a blag is there any decent repair services online that will do this. It's out of warranty as well. -

Registered 14 years agoI have just gone from an se to an xs. Really like it - I thought I would hate the increase in size but I’ve got used to it quickly. The photos look very nice. I’ve already thrown it on the floor twice though.
I have no idea what the specs are but it’s got some really funky magic speaker thing where if you watch a video or listen to music in landscape mode it has this magical stereo effect that’s incredibly convincing. -

Oh yeah! Hadn’t spotted that little thing there before.
