Any happy or otherwise XR owners here? My 6S is on its last legs but with trade-in special offer could get an XR for £420 until the end of the month. Doesn’t seem like the 11 brings enough to the table to justify the £200 extra it would cost. |

Registered 14 years agoMy 6S is on its last legs too. It still got the iOS 13 update yesterday though. I'm sure I saw a list last week that said it wasn't going to be supported. -

Registered 18 years agoIn terms of speed I’m still more than happy with the XS so the XR will be more than enough for you - same chip inside after all. I really like the 2x camera in the XS but if you never had it then I don’t think you’ll mind. -

Registered 12 years agoI find my 6S more than speedy enough for everything I use it for but reliability is becoming a concern. My XR arrived today though so hopefully I’ll get on with it.
Going back to the 6S after setting up the XR, the screen felt really small so maybe that’s a good sign. -
Most annoying thing about the iPhone:
If you use maps for navigation in landscape view in the mode where the screen only comes on when approaching a turn then the screen comes back on in portrait orientation. Fix it Tim Apple. Fix it. -

Registered 10 years agoI used Apple Maps in San Francisco last month, thinking that Maps would be at its best in CA.
After walking to the wrong place for 10 minutes, I switched back to Google Maps. -

This is funny because the obvious answer is that you're holding it wrong

The bloody promo code Giffgaff sent me for the trade-in promo doesn’t work, they’d better sort it out. XR does seem nice so far. I haven’t charged it since Friday afternoon and it’s still got nearly 50% charge.
I would be all over the trade in deal to get an XR, if you’re on iPhone 6,7 or 8.
Once you go to XR or XS, you’ll not regret it. The screen size alone will make you wonder why you were putting up with such a small screen before.
On a separate note, wow, iOS 13 has so much bugs. I’d recommend to wait until the next patch. -

Registered 14 years agoI’ve just bought an Apple Watch S4 on a whim and it’s got cellular...my phones on BT.
Am I right in thinking I won’t be able to use it on its own without moving both my phone and the watch to a carrier that supports it? -

A few of us were actually reminiscing about the time we went to EGX in London the other day. MEGABUS! Good times! 😁 -

Registered 14 years ago@Dougs - Looking into this, even though BT own EE, its obviously run separately. BT's just an MVNO. They don't want to poach a stream of revenue from another part of the group so only offer it through EE. Ballsacks!

Registered 16 years agoYou need a seperate contract for the watch anyway so it shouldn’t matter too much if your phone is on another network. EE, Vodafone and O2 all support the watch -

Registered 14 years ago@elstoof Really? That's great if thats the case...though everywhere ive looked has suggested the watch has to be attached to the same network contract? -

Registered 6 years agoObviously Swift Keyboard has been around for a long time, but I'm enjoying its integration as part of iOS13. Though punctuation doesn't seem to have been thought out particulary well. Having to press 123 to switch to symbols to add a question mark, for example, really spoils your flow. -

Nope. Full-stop isn't even on the main page of letters. You can double-tap space to get a full-stop followed by a space, which is good, but ?!" etc are all on another page...
