Hang on a couple of weeks. 3GSM is next week and there'll be a bucket load of new phones announced there.

I think the LG Prada looks pretty good, but it's gonna cost a bomb and I'm not sure if it's out yet

    edit: Prada

    Nokia 3210.

Seriously, I've got my eye on the Nokia E70. Has MPEG-4 and a flip open keyboard thing. Will eventually be the successor to my Nokia 6820 once the price comes within my reach.

Sony Ericsson w880. almost as thin as an Ipod nano, all the features of its fat brother, the w850.

If you phone up 3, they'll offer you an N73, which is pretty good if you like fat Nokias

at the mo, ive got an N70 - its like a huge slab of concrete, so looking for something a little slicker.

Ive seen good reviews for the Sony Ericsson K800i - anybody have one wish to confirm if its any good?

    what a load of crap!

    they wouldnt offer me anything?

they'd lower the price of my tariff but slash my free minutes and txts - refusing to haggle with me.
when I said id be looking elsewhere the guy "uumed and ahhh'ed" and did fuck all.

Mind you the guy on the phone sounded new - completely useless.

well, what a britneys chuff that turned out to be eh?

K800i is a decent phone I've had mine since August and its only crashed on the odd occasion when scrolling through text messages, the joystick is a lot slicker than the previous SE phones.

My only gripe is the lens cover for the camera sticking out - its annoying, whoever thought it would be a good idea to have it slide horizontally needs a good telling off.

If you are looking for a small phone I would recommend the Samsung X820, I've had mine a couple of weeks and apart from slightly short battery life I'm really pleased with it.

I really like my K800i, the wife also has one and she loves hers too!
It's a really good camera, 3megapix and also has a decent flash. The interface is dead easy to get used to and as gazzy says, the joystick is much more robust than on past Sony Erricsons.

That's kinda what you get for going with 3, I'm afraid :(

I bailed out of a contract with them like a WW2 pilot out of a burning bloody plane. Absolutely the worst treatment of a paying customer I've ever had from any service company - and my experience with them seems to be matched by similar stories from friends who tried them out. Their entire company seems to be run on the principle that all their customers are dumb chavs who don't know any better.

Much as I loathe to pimp them. Dialaphone have some pretty sweet deals at the moment.

I found the only way with 3 to do anything was to slightly alter my "get served in Curry's" approach (that is, stand intently looking at the 50" plasma, and in ten seconds an assistant will appear whom you can ask for the batteries you're really after).

Phone up pretending to want to buy more text bundles, so you're put through to Scotland rather than India, then shout down the phone until you get your contract terminated.

I asked them to move the date of my DD and they (rather unhelpfully) cancelled it instead. Then they cut me off for not paying the bill. I mean WTF?

Went with the Motorola K1 KRZR or whatever its called. Expecting lots of random text issues as with the V3i, but I needed a clam shell phone. Better the devil you know and all that.

    K800i. Yawn.

I've purchased an i-mate SPL and it looks slick, is slick (and thin) and runs Windows mobile, which offers loads of features, and I think I like the OS better than my old Symbian OS. Very happy with it.

O2 defo don't give the same deals to curent customers as new ones, as last year they said to me 'no you can't have that phone for free, that's for NEW customers - you can pay £100!!!'

    Another K800i user.

    I really like it.

The camera could be better at night but close up flash shots come out nice.

The mp3 functionality with a decent memstick would be good enough.

It's also quick enough to play games on it.... so I've finished Sims, Ancient Empires and I'm half way through Empire Earth.

3MP for the camera makes it so worth it, especially for a phone that small.

Just did me....they did try and palm me off with 2nd tier stuff but I just rang back and told them which one I wanted.
