New Earl Sweatshirt is album of the year by a distance. Well worth the several year wait.

Think I've posted this before but no harm posting it again!

Merry Christmas! I was a bit young to have listened to rap in the early 90s so these mixes were really eye-opening. Some great tracks in there.

I listen to Ice Cube's The Predator and Lethal Injection back to back this morning, I'd forgotten just how fucking good they both are. Do your ears a favour and listen to them again.

Yeah that whole Wu-Tang vs Indie Hip Hop or whatever it is album is quite good.

LOL at 'Lyrical Swords' though. That sounds like a algorithm generated Wu-Tang title.

That Nas verse at the beginning was something else. '94 era Nas man.

Think I read the illmatic album, he was like 19 or 20 when he did. What a legend.

Yeah I think he was 17 when he did Halftime.

I'm kind of done trying to keep the pace with hip hop these days. The odd thing comes out which I really like and I keep track of my longtime favourite artists, but 90s (and 94-96 in particular) will always be my go-to. That is hip hop afaic.

    Today is a good day.

Schoolboy Q new album out now, Crash Talk.

Just listened to it. Better than most albums but on first listen it's a bit of a let down compared to blank face but I wasn't listening carefully.

Listened to crash talk some more. Except for two bad tracks it's excellent. Could do without the awful standard guest spots of 21 savage etc. Pretty much all of these new ish mainstream rappers are so bad. My bf son tried playing me some XX(insert rest of what ever his name is), that was painful. The beats are generally excellent but the lyrics :/.
