I think 50 used to ghostwrite for p diddy.
This has Eminem's smell all over it:
Back when Cube, was rolling with Lorenzo in a Benzo
I was banging with a gang of instrumentals
Got the pens and pencils, got down to business; but sometimes
The business end of this shit can turn your friends against you
(Dre - what's the difference)
Dr Dre accused of plotting to kill Suge Knight in murky 'murder-for-hire' conspiracy.
Suge is always making stuff up. Though it would be cheaper for Dre to have him whacked if true.
Blu did a tune with Jehst, it’s pretty nice
I don't know if this is the appropriate place to drop this. I recorded the end of year Spotify video you get. Thought I'd share it here.
I don't know how the rest of you discover hip-hop nowadays. Personally, I use the best hip-hop albums of [whatever year] lists that are curated by Google. And then listen to albums during my gaming sessions. Which means I listen to a lot of dross, but I also find some awesome stuff. I have decided to take a lazy day, so here have a selection of songs that I have discovered over the last 6 months. Apologies if they have already been posted here.
(I actually like this guy Ekoh)
If I know EG, we are all too cool to actually like the popular stuff, but I really love Lizzo.
This tune is a prime example of why I like hip hop. Like, fuck it, we’re doing a bird name rap.

If we are talking about birds, we have to talk about bees.
This is a really interesting, engaging interview of El-P by Talib Kweli. Quite long but worth it.
The new Foreign Beggars album is really good. Very different to their more recent grimy D&B stuff , mostly. It’s a throwback to their old tunes.
Will Smith legit still good

Did he get his ears pinned
New Eminem album out, it's pretty average but I'm loving this.
Mainly due to black thoughts delicious verse. Goes nice as always.
Pretty average is a huge improvement over the last couple of albums, so I suppose not completely sucking balls is something.
I really don’t know why I bother checking his new albums out. I hate how he barks lines out and the beats are usually terrible, big sample shite.
You're right but I did like quite a lot of the kamikaze album. By far his best album since the Eminem show.

Eminem seems to also have got a huge amount of backlash from fans due to an offensive line about the Manchester concert bombing, which is a bit odd since his fans should know that being offensive is exactly what he's all about. I mean, there was a line about the Columbine shootings in his second album 20(!) years ago... but I guess there was no social media back then.

Yeah different times innit. Everyone is offended about everything now, tough to make edgy jokes without half of the internet fitting.
The problem is, it’s not even a good line. It’s not funny, it’s apropos of nothing and just reeks of desperation. He used to get away with it because he was quick witted and funny, now it’s just tired and sad.
I mean, I don’t think as many people are as offended as twitter would like you to believe but, personally, I’m not offended, he can say what he likes. I just think it just confirms him as a sad old man struggling to stay relevant.
Yeah it’s the usual shtick. Everything he ever does has something in it that gets someone or some group up in arms. It’s all good publicity.
As for the album it’s always the same with Em. Incredible bars but average production, weird mix of features in an attempt to get mass and hardcore appeal, and subject matter that just always feels like it’s trying too hard.
He’s one of the most talented rappers of all time but he’s never managed to mature his style. He’s the the John Lydon of rap or something. The older he gets the more cringe it becomes.

Any love for Czarface? Rocking their 2nd album on my way to work. The production is great, and Esoteric’s lyrics and flow are siiiick
Another example of why I love hip hop. Czarface doing a tune about eating a dodgy burrito and getting the shits
Sorting through a box of old shite the other day and came across a box of my old car tapes. I’d forgotten how boss the Soundbombing series was.
I like Czarface. Track down the album with DOOM if you haven’t already.
Leaf Dog’s new album is good if you like you like that kind of thing. Worth checking out.

Thanks for the czarface recommendation folks, kind of gone off hip hop in recent years, but really liking their stuff.
I always liked wu-tang stuff, so maybe no surprise I'm enjoying it. Might point my lad in their direction too, better than some of the other stuff he & his mates are listening to at any rate! 😃
/old man rails at cloud (new music)
This is sooooooooooo good. American rap blogger Shaq listening to General Levy for the first time. Put a massive grin on my face. Classic clip as well.
