Played this for an hour or so last night. It's amusing, but not quite what I was hoping for. I know they have to break you into these things gently, but it's all a bit slow at the moment.

    Gets a lot better!!!

Finished it this morning. Great game, but what now?

Is there anything to be gained by loading up my finished save and replaying various levels?

Aussies have just age rated it. Guess an English language PAL release is imminent somewhere in the world...

Obviously, that's what they've been up to. Translating the American to Aussie must've taken up a lot of manpower. Maybe after this, they'll start work on the UK version.

After all, there really is an incredible amount to get through with the translating, what with everyone speaking different languages and all...

    @eviltwin

Have you completed the Pit of 100 Trials in both Flipside and Flopside yet?

Flipside was a piece of p!ss, but Flopside's vexxing me - got to Room 99 yesterday with 1 pt... took one look at the room full of c*nts throwing crap around and chucked the controller at the wall in despair; no way I could survive that.

As other's have mentioned, a great game but not quite a classic - well worth buying though.

I havn't bothered with the pits yet, my gaming sessions are somewhat time limited, so I've never managed to to have time to get past level 30.

Bah! I thought this thread had been brought back to life to inform us of a PAL release date, alas no. No news as far as I know.

This game sucked---I was extremely disappointed by it. The platform elements were weak and uninspired---and way too easy! The role playing elements were also weak and uninspired---and entirely too boring. The story was lame, but sometimes funny. It does look rather nice, but that can't save it. I ended up getting so bored with it that I stopped playing somewhere near the end. I don't even care how it ends.

Further, why do I have to go through 100 rooms of boredom just so I can run? Shouldn't that be standard on a Mario platformer. Also, where is the firepower? Cape? Raccoon suit? Anything? This game, as a platformer, sucked bad. Which wouldn't be so bad if the role playing made up for it, but it doesn't.

This is probably the most overrated game of the year. So, it's nice looking game that is boring and way too easy---maybe good for children, but I doubt it:
    4/10

Get Super Mario World on VC, it is 1000 time better.

    Edit: Stupid English grammar :)

PAL in europe has to include all euro languages - this is the issue. So we get lumped in with the european languages.

Thanks for your "review". If you thought this game was going to be a platformer then you bought the wrong game.

I didn't think it would only be a platformer, I thought it would be an RPG with platforming elements or a platformer with RPG elements---which I guess it is, but it failed at both. The platforming is bad and the RPG is bad.

After playing for a while I thought, "Would I still be playing this game if it wasn't Mario and company? And the answer was, "No." A good game is a good game regardless of the characters, and the same is true of bad games, and this game was just bad.

    Rent it first...

Why did you put review in quotes? A review is a review isn't it? Ones point of view?

Check the Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition thread - there is so much discussion about what makes a review I almost shit.

    Heh. Typical!

Oh well, 3 months to go.

I wonder which game they'll remove form their Christmas schedule then; surely they won't release 4* of their big guns in a 3 month period?

    *Super Paper Mario
    Mario Galaxy
    Metroid Prime 3
Smash Bross Brawl (I know, I know but still a big franchise)

Assuming we are talking Euro releases:

Smash Bros will be a pre-Christmas release without a doubt Metroid at Easter with Galaxy eventually.

We are talking about Nintendo after all.

Edit: Is happy to be proved wrong.

    Nah.

I bet Mario is out before Christmass (asuming it comes out and is not delayed worldwide.

Metroid is the most probable game to delay.
