Ahh, had you heard of the bug before you got there then?

Wonder how many people will just return the game if it affects all copies.

I'll definetly try talking and see if the game crashes. I might just not have enough time tomorrow to get to chapter 2, unless the chapters aren't that long.

Anyway, since I live in Austria I'll be getting the German version since it's the only one on sale but usually all the PAL games are the same. Does your game come in German as well? If not then it could be that not all PAL versions are affected.

Not sure if there's German, but there is a save point right before the affected area, so not too bad.

All Nintendo UK games come with all of the main European languages on them.

I get the crash too after the final conversation with Mimi. 480p, component, latest firmware. Annoying, at least the workaround is easy enough.

Thanks for clearing that up. I would have been surprised if it wasn't that way.

I'm still on firmware 2.2. I actually expect this game to update it to 3.0 though - I think it has been out long enough to find its way on this disc. If not then Metroid Prime 3 I guess.

This is brilliant fun. I'm on Chapter 1-3.
Been waiting for a real 'meaty' game since Zelda and this is it.

The charm is still there and the humour as good as ever.
Lovin the Red and Green bridge guys, and Greens question!.

    Can see me loving this.

Got this yesterday and played it upn to chapter ... 1.3 I think. Got a bit stuck at that stupid blue plattform (the hint is 3 red left arrows and that i should stand on the blue platform but I think I'm to tired now to figure out what to do).

Not sure what I think really ... it's fun, the art style is mostly cool but ... I can't helpt to feel it's the same game that I've played now on several consoles again with a little twist ... might just be me being a bit fed up with Super Mario and plattformers.

Was playing through this again from the start with my son, and this time I got the Mimi crash. As people have already said you can bypass Mimi and continue, but the game definately appears to be broken.

I'm the complete opposite. After the dissapointing Yoshi's Island DS and New Super Mario Bros (really expansion packs of their respective originals), this feels like a welcome return to form. The mechanics feel much more natural too ie no press 'B' button to make Mario dash nonsense and the 2D/3D spin gives the game a fresh twist.

I played this game close to 4 hours yesterday - which is more than I've played any videogame in a long, long time.

Upto the end of the first chapter - the bit with the red mechanical dragon, Fracktail. Any hints on how to defeat him (beside hitting the antenna which I got)?

Nope, that's pretty much it, flip into 3D, jump on his back, pick up the critters and lob them at his antenna.

    edit: spelling

What is the causes of this 2-2 glitch? I pretty sure I talked to her without any crashes. Is it using a certain cable or something.

Great game, I'm not normally into mario games that much but the humour and rpg elements really bring this one to life.

Art design is fantastic - not sure it's really gelling with me though, an all-too-easy amble through chapters, and an urge to skip some loads of the dialogue, although some of it made me very amused.

Just finished 1.4, will continue, if only to see what beautiful visages come next.

Bought this today for £29, but still haven't played it. The original on N64's sucked me back in! Then I have the GC one to finish off... :(

Am I reading too much into this or is the DS mounted to the wall of the Restaurant on Flipside Ground Floor going to allow for a future link with a DS...?

It mentions "Awaiting upgrade" or something along those lines.

Perhaps it will become clear later into the game...

I've still got both the N64 (via VC) AND the GC one to complete. I just fell out of love with them part way through.

However, this title does not appear to link directly with either of the RPGs, other than the obvious art style etc.

I'm at the Shy Guy's hideout in the N64 one, and haven't played the GC one in a long time. I have to get into a sailor's house somehow and haven't a clue how to do it.

And yeah, I figured they're not exactly connected plot-wise. :p

Red is great. In fact so many characters are great. The game really made me laugh out loud a couple of times already (found my 2nd heart). Fracktail is genius as well - him searching his databanks and having the shop loading animation in his eye; it's so great.

Kinda half-playing the N64 version right now, and I have to take something to Russ. T. I haven't played this in a while, and I can't remember who he is or where he stays.

On the subject of glitches, chapter 1-3, the sign post is supposed to tell you to press '-' and '1' on the blue platform, but on my game, the sign posts just shows 3 arrows? Am I missing something completely obvious here, or is that an error?
