| Yep, listened to them all a month or so back. It'll be interesting to see (hear) where they go with the next season, given how the last one ended. |

I used to quite like this, but they ramble a lot and neither are that funny to be honest, also they spend A LOT of time plugging stuff.

My recommendations are Dr Karl science phone-in if only for daft questions and the Bugle naturally. Now i'm a dad i get to listen to about one of those a week. Though I hear podcasts + euro truck simulator is a good mix.

Registered 16 years agoThanks for uh yeah dude bill, very funny, but now I've listened to a lot I swear all the time.. -
Any recommendations for daily news updates 30 mind to an hour long? Take the dog for an hour walk every morning and figured it is a perfect time to catch up. Tried a few BBC ones but they waste too much time on nonsense I don't care about. -
Currently listening to Grayson Perry's Reith lectures -Playing to the Gallery- which are interesting, educational and fun. I've not paid any attention to the guy or his work before. He reminds me of John Lydon. -
Those lectures are great. I only wish they were longer and there were more of them. He has a lot of interesting things to say and pokes fun at a lot of people. -

Entire Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween etc. -

I'm going on a long-ish train journey tomorrow and I'm getting some podcasts together for the first time. I sometimes listen to things on the actual sites, but I've never bothered to subscribe before. Using iTunes, I've currently subscribed to:
The Bugle (although I've just noticed their last one was a while ago, is seven minutes long, and is "an announcement", which doesn't bode well. I can enjoy the back catalogue, I guess)
RA Exchange (I usually just download the actual podcast off the site if it looks good)
WTF with Marc Maron
Football Weekly (listen on-and-off anyway)
Comedy Bang Bang
The Dissolve Podcast
Any other recommendations would be cool. Looking for things where it's just people talking, really. Stuff on comedy, music, movies, football, books all appreciated. I'd prefer it to generally be fairly light-hearted though, don't really want an hour of serious news discussion or anything. -

Registered 13 years agoIf any one is playing or recently finished Valiant Hearts I highly recommend Hardcore History,Dan has recently did a 3part series on WW1,series is called passport to Armageddon -
I second that. Hardcore History is indeed well worth a listen. They are fairly irregular but it's understandable given their length (2 - 3 hours).
I have also been listening to Approaching The Natural, a weekly podcast by Sid Garza Hillman. May be helpful for people who want to eat more healthily or adopt new habits etc. The main focus is about making small, low stress changes. The guy is a vegan so believes that eating fruit and veg is good but he doesn't evangelise or push that aspect of it very hard. -

Some others you might want to check out:
Stuff You Should Know
Three Moves Ahead [if you like strategy games]
Planet Money
This American Life
Radiolab
The Flophouse
The last two on that list are my absolute favourites. -

Registered 17 years agoFilm Junk is a very good podcast for film geeks. As with all podcasts it takes a bit of getting to know the cast, but when you do it's a delight.

For people that are interested in current affairs, as well as political and economic theory (I know there will be so many here right?!?) the LSE lecture series are very good..
People should also listen to my brother my brother and me and idle thumbs!
