No. No they didn't. The Beatles are still massively popular. On a slight tangent, what do you mean by "you have a fairly acquired taste in music"? |

James Blunt and Dido ftw, tbh I'm not too sure about Beck, did they do a 'Raise your hands up' song or something?
Fucking hell -
M_E: don't bother, bleH's being a troll. It's like him saying he hadn't heard of Hitchcock and thought he did Jaws. -

\o/ hehe.
(Though I was just using them as a band that several generations like).

I'm not sure. I'll have to start a thread to ask if I smell bad as I can't make decisions for myself. And I'm fairly sure I'm not dirty or have dreadlocks... In fact I don't think I've ever had dreadlocks. You're on the money with being in a Death Metal band with a comical name - doesn't mean I can't call someone a cunt for listening to Linkin Park, though.
warlock, aren't you some real ugly, dirty greebo with dreadlocks and probably smell really bad? And you were in a band called "Dirty Rotten Maggot Infection" or something equally ridiculous? I don't think it's right that someone like you comments on other peoples music tastes, or their family's to be honest. -
Mission accomplished blize, you've managed to turn the thread into being about you again. Give yourself a pat on the back. -

Radiohead are sublime.
Beck is great.
Linkin Park are shit.
A lot of metal makes me giggle because it apparently takes itself seriously when it's hilariously melodramatic.
Music snobbery is only allowed for me
listen to what you want
oh fuck off

Good god that's bollocks. I'm not a huge LP fan, but in terms of musical talent and output, that is surely bollocks. Limp Bizkit's biggest songs were as a result of a Mission Impossible theme tune and a song written by Pete Townshend. Rolling was an abomination, and I say that having actually liked it in my late teens. Naivity FTL. -
I grew up on a bit of Limp Bizkit, I must confess. I always preferred them to LP, who seemed to come ever so slightly later, i.e. after i realised LB were shite. My friend always sneaks on Break Stuff on my laptop, as it's on there as I was feeling nostalgic one day. -
Was it not clear that I was trolling there? .gif)
I find them equally bad. -

Registered 16 years agoI did use to enjoy a little LB, I'll admit. I've probably got some in my mp3 library. I've no willingness to ever listen to it again though. -

Beck's shit has more talent than the whole band put together. Anyone who thinks Beck is a "they" and did a song about Raising your Hands is a total mong. -

I'm just saying it's pretty rare that a band would be appreciated by three generations IMO.
Dylan, Wilco and Beck are only liked by very old people, or weirdos.
Christ. This is almost embarrassing.
Almost? It's cosmically embarrassing. -

Radiohead aren't THAT diverse.
Old stuff compared to newer stuff they are.
Old stuff of Linkin Park is completely different than their newer stuff, I'd hardly call them diverse though. -
Please define diverse because my understanding of English must be broken.
Every Linkin Park song sounds identical (except for the occasional MOR ballad thrown in) to me. -

Don't respond to him everyone. Come on, he's saying these things deliberately. Don't give him the satisfaction. -

No normal people under the age of 25 (or maybe even older) would be a big fan of The Beatles I'm sure, other than absolute nerds who just claim they like them because they think they should. BANGARANG! > The Beatles
Not sure if that came out right, I guess what I'm trying to say is how many people of this generation would actually go and buy a Beatles album? Or even download it and have it on their iPod? Really not many at all.
Do you know what your talking about?
Or do you just sit down and hammer at the keyboard? -

Minutes to Midnight doesn't sound like Hybrid Theory. What I'm saying is, like with Radiohead, just because their old stuff doesn't sound like their newer stuff, it doesn't mean they're diverse.
Radiohead have been going a long time, their music is more of a natural progression than being "diverse", and they have always catered for the same audience and stayed in their own little genre. So no, I wouldn't call them diverse really.
S'not really important though : ) -
Dunno, lots of people don't like Kid A onwards, and vice versa.
