I haven't played the Lottery for ages, but I might set up the subscription service on their website, where it takes the money out by Direct Debit and automatically enters your numbers in each draw for you. I'm too lazy to buy tickets for every draw, and I'm definitely too lazy to check what the numbers actually were twice a week!

A syndicate where I used to work used to pool all their winnings for a big night out in town. Most years it got them the bus fare and a pint each...!

10Ks worth of premium bonds gives you a cheque most months! And you can get it back.

Just spotted that one! :D You can buy a couple of Logans for that money I presume.

I've never won more than the price of a new ticket, ever. :(

Well I was thinking if I was going to go ass to mouth it'd be best to get a clean ass and mouth.

Unfortunately she charged the price but I still got AIDS.

I think the average payout for premium bonds is 3.45% isn't it? So whatever way you look at it, over time you're losing money.

They make a certain amount of sense for higher tax bracket people with the cash to spare and who fancy a bit of a gamble, simply because the payouts are interest free. If you've got more cash than you can cram into an ISA, they compare reasonably with many savings accounts.

The largest amount of money I've ever won has been IRL£20.

That's about €26 in the new money.

    Those were the days...
