While details are still limited, OpFlash 2 uses the same Neon Engine as its Colin McRae DIRT racing game and will also feature extensive online capabilities for epic multiplayer battlefield action.

Can't wait for this one. Will be a nice change from Ubisoft/Tom Clancy.

I don't fancy the chances of the bloke on the left with the MP5. He should be wearing red.

Decent intereview on EG homepage. I can't wait to get this, hopefully it remains as tough as the interview implies and not too easy by virtue of the good AI.

If the AI on your side is good, hopefully the enemy AI will be too.

Indeed. Sounds like they've thought about it. I suddenly can't wait for this game :)

Yep this sounds more and more great but the clincher for me is the mission editor and sandbox capabilities. All I really want is the opportunity to place myself on a hill by a plain and then order two enormous armies to fight it out to the death in front of me.

Still looking slightly clunky, but certainly promising. Not sure about some of the soldier animations, but there's not a lot of those in the vid so it's benefit of the doubt there.

Looks OK but I agree with the commentary: I reckon there's more than six month's of development and polish to go. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they slip this to Christmas.

Seen dates on this in Game as 29th May. That does seem a bit close but I'm kind of hoping it's out then. I'm really looking forward to this one.

The EG hands on is good but doesn't give enough detail around the enemy AI and the missions on the whole. Are there other decent sites that would analyse that in more detail?

Here's an interview my colleague carried out at the same event with Senior Game Designer Tim Browne - it does go into quite a bit of detail.

I've got to ask: Is there an achievement for walking from one side of the map to the other?

No. It's something we did consider, but the fact, as was mentioned earlier, it's takes nine and a half hours to run from one side to the other.

    That's pretty big.

    From the article:

We can confidently say it takes nine and half hours to get from one side to the other because we got a QA guy to do it, and that's why we know, but I wouldn't want to do that to that guy again and again.

    :D

Pity, they could have called the achievement Ivor Longwalk.

Here are some recently uploaded (earlier today) walkthrough dev videos of a spec-ops mission and also a USMC infantry mission. This build of the game is quite recent.

All footage taken is from X360.

Indeed. The multiplayer aspect is the only thing gnawing at me about this so far (360 version). So 4 players per side with each player being able to have a support team of a few AI buddies?
