Hey, was just wondering if Helio phones were available outside the US? Have spotted the new Helio Ocean which has a dual-slide mechanism for a keyboard and number pad. Got a funny feeling that it can't be used in the UK though, was thinking of picking one up in July when I'm abroad. Any help would be appreciated, cheers! ![]() Edited by CosmicFuzz at 14:49:38 29-04-2007 |

Hum, no idea of the answer to your question, I'm afraid, but that looks a damn sensible idea for a phone. Looking for a new phone myself, actually, might give that a bit more investigation. -

Registered 15 years agoYeah, I had the old Nokia 6820, which flipped open for a qwerty keypad years ago, and I really, really liked having it for texting. -

Registered 15 years agoYeah I was thinking that, but what if it was locked to Helio, would I be able to just use my O2 sim card? I'd have to unlock it somehow? -

Registered 15 years agoOk, just did some more research, looks like you can't use it in Europe after all, it runs off a network (CDMA I think) that isn't available here. Dunno why they didn't use GSM, but oh well

No joke Khab, that was my second phone I was looking at if I couldn't get the Helio. What's your thoughts on it? Is it really good?
TTV: I've seen it for around £280 on websites, sim-free.
