Hey, was just wondering if Helio phones were available outside the US? Have spotted the new Helio Ocean which has a dual-slide mechanism for a keyboard and number pad. Got a funny feeling that it can't be used in the UK though, was thinking of picking one up in July when I'm abroad. Any help would be appreciated, cheers! :)

Hum, no idea of the answer to your question, I'm afraid, but that looks a damn sensible idea for a phone. Looking for a new phone myself, actually, might give that a bit more investigation.

Yeah, I had the old Nokia 6820, which flipped open for a qwerty keypad years ago, and I really, really liked having it for texting.

Yeah I was thinking that, but what if it was locked to Helio, would I be able to just use my O2 sim card? I'd have to unlock it somehow?

Ok, just did some more research, looks like you can't use it in Europe after all, it runs off a network (CDMA I think) that isn't available here. Dunno why they didn't use GSM, but oh well :(

What you want is this. I'm trying it out for work just now, and it's a lovely bit of kit...

No joke Khab, that was my second phone I was looking at if I couldn't get the Helio. What's your thoughts on it? Is it really good?

TTV: I've seen it for around £280 on websites, sim-free.
