Well I dunno. But then they specify that they are for stuff like festivals, so I guess they might be good value for money, considering how they are supposed to be used. Not sure I'd trust them on a hiking trip though. Edit: And cheap compared to the brands I linked to. But then those tents aare for different purpouses, so I guess the comparison isn't really valid. Registered 20 years agoThere's far too many off these damn things. I find buying stuff very hard these days, just too much consumer choice.
I wanted to buy a new internal DVD writer recently, I just gave up....whenever I buy something I am racked with anxiety for ages after, in case I have bought the wrong thing...
I left the new tv up to the wife....

Registered 18 years agoI've spent a lot of time fishing with my mate on Brokeback Mountain; we only had a ridge tent but we found ways to keep warm. -

Registered 18 years agoI love camping “Proper camping though” none of this campsite malarkey; I couldn’t believe the prices that they wanted per night. £18 for a 9’ 6” X 7’ X 6’ ridge tent and 2’ of that was my bell end. The Northumberland National Park took an anti-tent policy after the normally tree hugging type decided on chopping down trees for camp fires during a Summer Solstice Festival. You aren’t really free when you have facilities like toilets and showers. -

Maybe you and Pooley should get together for a threesome,
Wouldn't that be a twosome?
Khyam tents cheap? Not the ones I've seen. They may seem cheap compared to ones suitable for Arctic exploration or Everest assaults, but they're better than Colemans and the like. After years of struggling with pole tents, the Khyam erect system is a godsend for camping. -

Registered 16 years agoWhen I was a kid our family tent was a Vango Force 10. Parents, 2 kids and a huge dog, cozy.
Addition: fond memories of waking up in a campsite in Nova Scotia after a great nights sleep to find the entire campsite devastated in a storm, only tent left standing. We were family smug that day.gif)

I was actually thinking about creating a "Camping" group! .gif)
Here's our family tent, it's brilliant. They do ship to the UK I think.
Good site here. -

Two weekends to go before our first camping trip of the year - can't wait! \o/
Got big plans for this summer. First, a long weekend down on [link=http://www.ontarioparks.com/english/char.html">Charleston Lake; then, a week camping near Niagara and by Lake Erie; then, a four-day trip in August to Murphy's Point; then, the highlight for me, four days just me & the nipper in -

We went camping on the south coast over the bank holiday weekend, this time we went all upmarket and rented a motorhome.
I hated it. -

Registered 16 years agoGot my families Vango Force 10 so I need to pitch it in the garden before I use it again for real. Don't think it's been used in 20 years.
Awesome tent, I bet it's smaller than I remember. -

Registered 15 years agoThinking of getting one of these for our camping holiday this Summer. Anyone got one/ever stayed in one? -
They're fantastic! I love them. I used to camp in them as a kid. Very roomy inside, you can roll up the bottom and let the air through the tent, they smell like real tents. They're a lot bulkier and more of a faff to erect but God damn it they're worth it! I'd love one. -

Registered 15 years agoExcellent, glad to hear it!
Just how faffy are they to put up? More tricky than normal tents? -
More tricky than modern tents, yeah, but no problem if there's more than one of you. It's been years (decades!) since I put one up but as I recall you need one person to stand with the central pillar and then others peg in at the four compass points after which it's a breeze. -
Ah right. That's fine then as there will be at least two of us putting it up wherever we go.
Can't bloody wait to go camping now!
