Cheers for the offer, but I always vow never to 'cheat' or let someone else help me when I'm stuck on a game!
However, if I still haven't completed 52 by this time next week, I might well ask for some assistance

Registered 17 years agoHaha, I told you that one was tough! IIRC its the top right that caused my the trouble at first, but then it was in the bottom left that I solved it.
Working through the level 3 grids (18x10), plowed through about 5 of them last night in bed, all in about 4 or 5 mins each. Great how much better you get at it. -

I keep getting stuck in the bottom left - there's a nasty little section which I've yet to solve.
What number is the first 18x10? -

Registered 15 years agoI finally did 52 last night! In the end, it did it in just over 7 minutes and didn't have any problems at all. I know where I was going wrong though and when I figured it out, I was UNBELIEVEABLY relieved.
Bit stuck on 62 now ... -

Registered 16 years agoI did my first two 24x14 last night. Both took over 25 minutes. Talk about ramping up the difficulty. I've only just got my head round 18x10. -

Blimey, sounds tricky.
I'm just coming to the final 15 or so 10x10s and I'm already starting to get a bit nervous about 18x10s ... -

Registered 16 years agoI've found with each grid size increase that it starts off as quite a brick wall. Then about 15-20 puzzles I start to get used to it and just as I'm starting to flow at that level the grid increases again! -

Registered 17 years agoTalk to me about tricky, I'm currently on #10 from the hardest difficulty!
Now I know why they put the "Save game" option in there...
JetSet, for me it's exactly the opposite. I often have trouble with the last few puzzles of a given size as they seem more difficult, but then breeze through the first few larger ones, as they're usually a bit simpler and just larger....gif)

Yeah, I know what you mean - if I look back at the times for my old puzzles, they always start out really poorly and get gradually better (apart from the odd one which gets me stumped for no reason in particular!).
I'm really enjoying the 10x10s, shame there aren't many left!

Do you mean the last set of numbers or is there more than one difficulty level?? -

Registered 17 years agoWhen you select "start game", the next screen consists of four difficulty levels, top one being easiest, bottom one being hardest. So there's four sets of puzzles...

Yeah, I know that - I thought you meant that there was four sets of puzzles for each difficulty level! -

Registered 15 years agoYay. Got this thru today along with RE4 (Wii) & Kuru Kururin 2 (GBA). They're all fantastic & I don't know which to go with. I've completed the first 5 on this & seem to be settling in okay. Gonna take a bit of a mammoth effort to catch everyone on here tho. -

It will take a mammoth effort, but believe me, it's worth it. I guarantee that at some point, you will feel like smashing your DS to tiny pieces and eating it and at other times, you'll want to legally marry it. -

It always re-assures me that other people have the exact same range of emotions with this game. -

Me too! Sometimes, I have to grit my teeth and simply turn my DS off before I do something I regret and other times, I actually clench my fist in celebration and say "get in!" or something to myself. My girlfriend can't understand how I get so emotional about a game when you have to draw lines around numbers ... -

That's bad - no idea how you managed to do that.
About smashing the DS into little pieces: Thing is, Slitherlink makes me feel stupid and when I eventually hit a wall, I REALLY hit it. With other puzzle games I can remotely think of what I did wrong or need to do to solve it but here I'm just completely stuck. Especially because when something doesn't work in Slitherlink it's because I made a mistake. It's not because I just don't see something right away and have to start thinking again of what to do but it's frustrating because I know I really screwed up although it's so simple actually. -

Registered 17 years agoI just did my first 36x20 puzzle (in just shy of 40 minutes). Unfortunately, there is a problem with the puzzles of this size. After I laid out about half of the lines, the controls became a bit sluggish as the DS is struggling. This is mightily annoying, as I play with the pad and "double-click" with the buttons to mark an x, but I now have to consciously slow down my double-tapping the buttons, as it isn't registering the 2nd press in time.
Doesn't sound too bad, but is in fact infuriating...

Okay. Thoroughly enjoying it & flying through some of them first time. Completed one (the easy ones) in about 56 secs yesterday - v pleased with myself. DS battery died at a great point though. I was on my first 10x10 and thought I'd done it yet it wasn't completing. I started going back through it all changing bits here n there to try fitting it properly and getting highly frustrated. This is when it died saving me getting angry & violent.gif)
Otherwise, what are the stars for? -
Just found this free version that supports a hell of a lot of mobiles!

How are people getting on? Still hooked? I thought the novelty would wear off, but I still play every night for at least 25 minutes. Now on the third difficulty level and coping surprisngly well with the 18X10s.
Fanstastic game. -

Registered 16 years agoI still play one or two puzzles before going to sleep. It's a bit frustrating though when I simply cannot get along. I have still some of the earler 10x10 puzzles which I try to solve nearly every day and I fail every time. On the other hand yesterday I finished a 10x10 puzzle I have never tried before in just under three minutes.
I still enjoy the game a lot it's just that the throwbacks when failing again and having no idea why start to get a bit on my nerves now. But then I can just go back to Picross DS until I fall asleep. -

Registered 15 years agoI got horribly stuck on a few 10x10s, but I got through them eventually. The solution is ALWAYS logical and you will kick yourself when you finally solve the troublesome little blighters.
The step up to 18x10s hasn't been too bad (so far). I actually like them more than the 10x10s because they are sooooo satisfying to solve.
The elation of that little pause, followed by 'completion' appearing on screen easily outweighs the blind rage caused by getting stuck on the same puzzle time and time again. -

Thread bump time.
I'm still playing this pretty much everyday (along with More Brain Training). Well into the 18x10s now, and really don't think I can stop playing until I've completed every single puzzle. I've got a horrible feeling that once I've completed it, I'll just have go back and get full stars for each puzzle.
By the way, are there any other modes in the game?
