Destructoid got a hands-on with God of War for mobile phones, their writer coming away impressed from the experience.

The title was recently announced by Sony, and although it's not being developed by the usual people, God of War:Betrayal will feature a story (bridging the events of God of War, the first and second) written by one of the writers on the PS2 games.

1up also took a look at the game that SOE (so many divisions!) hope
will not only contain the same violent moves you've seen on PS2, but also advance the story in a meaningful way.
It seems the violence is set to levels in line with the existing games, too. Both links feature screenshots. The game should be available worldwide before the end of Summer.

Not usually a big mobile gamer, usually get the games for the "novelty" of having them.

However i have to say i'm quite impressed with that video and the fast paced actioned.

dunno why, but it made me think of the Southpark episode when they pretend to be ninjas with super-powers.

I can appreciate that this is actually pretty good for a mobile game, but as with many mobile games, how is this really adding anything to the original license?

My only worry is how the hell the controls will work!
