The new album was on my door mat when I arrived home this afternoon. I've got it on at the moment. A very happy album, unsurprisingly. The opening track is great!

Edit - Not sure about the new Dreams though. Its lost a little of its pop and he's removed the swearing.

Didn’t catch it but he was on with Lauren Laverne on 6music this morning, worth an iPlayer perhaps.

I've managed to listen to the album twice through before heading back out again. Colors and I'm So Free are really great. Single worthy, most definitely. No Distraction sounds a little like The Police, if they were still going. I'm still not overly impressed with the new version of Dreams. Perhaps it'll grow on me in time, but they've even dialled back the guitar somewhat, which is odd given that other songs are still lead by guitars.

There's another album called Hyperspace coming "at an as yet undetermined point in the space time continuum", Saw Lightning is the first single.

I tried finding this thread earlier, but nothing was coming up in the search. The first single is great. Expecting great things!

Liking all 3 tracks so far. It feels more like a continuation of the last album, but less corny. The opening track makes a big reference to Up All Night, which is strange.

Also, Chris Martin is on the album, which I'm not sure I like the sound of.

Weird. I would not have ever put those two together.

I liked the last album, loved Morning View. Looking forward to hearing the new one

I assume everyone has heard Dark Places already? It takes a few listens to get into, but I'm really liking it now. It's beginning to look like Saw Lightning might be out of place on the new album. Time will tell.

New album is out! Anybody pick it up? As anticipated, Saw Lightning is indeed the odd track out. Nothing else sounds remotely like it. Stratosphere is my early favourite, so far. Dark Places and Everlasting Nothing are great, too.

Also, Beck has come out today and said he's not a scientologist and, even though his parents were/are scientologists, has no connection or affiliation with it.

That's obviously bullshitty and mysteriously coincides with getting divorced from a Scientologist who is the sister of a fairly prominent Scientologist.

    Hmmmmmm.....

I don't think he's saying he's saying he's never been a part of it, but more along the lines of not being a scientologist himself or spreading its 'message'.

The NME are saying this morning he identifies as Jewish.
