Terry Pratchett is still brilliant (although I don't like his earlier books as much). Was it read by Tony Robinson? if so, he doesn't read them well

Quite a long time since I posted that. Pretty sure it wasn't Tony Robinson, though I couldn't tell you who it was.

I should try reading one again as I haven't bothered with Pratchett since I was a teenager.

A quick Google turns up Nigel Planer as the most probable candidate. He was shit whoever it was.

The new Stephen King novel 11.22.63 narrated by Craig Wasson is superb. A departure from Kings usual horror work too. It's about a time traveler who attempts to prevent the assassination of John F. Kennedy which occurred on November 22, 1963

I'm listening to Ready Player One which is narrated by Wil Wheaton it was an awesome bookd and a really good audiobook

He's actually quite a good chap. You should listen to his star trek podcasts, he rips the shit out of himself and the show.

I've heard him on The Nerdist podcast and he came across really well. One of his anecdotes about getting offered a rank promotion in Star Trek over an actual payrise cracked me up.

The Dark Tower series by Stephen King read with appropriate gravel tones by Frank Muller then later by George Guildall. They manage to make King's somewhat convoluted story make a lot more sense, with good vocal distinction between the characters.

Stephen Fry's narration on the Harry Potter series adds a lot of life too the books, which I had treated with the normal snobbery of someone who hates something popular they haven't read/seen/heard.

Not sure if its been mentioned in the thread, but go to www.librovox.org where you can download free versions of many hundreds of public domain books. Then its just a case of burning them to cd or transferring to ipod.

Reading quality varies as its done by volunteers, but its not bad at all.
