Registered 5 years agoI've actually held off buying this! I don't know what's happening to me, but this would normally have been a day 1 purchase. I'm surprised I didn't pre order it. I think this 5 game challenge is doing its job.

Registered 13 years agoPlayed an hour or so myself, having not played it before, and it's superb. Slowdown on area transition is noticeable but it's so charming I can get by that. -

Registered 7 years agoHad a change of heart and thought about picking this up after work at 2 bit doesn't look like it's in stick anywhere and don't fancy paying 50 quid for it. Ah well. -

I got up early this morning to play it. when my son woke up he come and sat next to me. I was doing the crane game at the time, my son took great delight in me playing it and every time i went into the house (after a rupee run) he would say house. -

It really is and it's a welcome change of pace from the other stuff I've been playing recently. I did the first couple of dungeons and made my way towards the next one before turning it off, could have easily played all night.

Registered 16 years agoI'm determined not to get stuck on whatever temple it was that took me months to figure when I was a nipper. I think it was a dungeons where you have to drop through the floors to navigate through, and my little brain couldn't handle it. -

Registered 7 years agoTo be fair I got stuck on the second dungeon because I didn't realise that the magic powder was used to light torches. -

£50 at Argos, I can’t do it, I’d really like to but it’s just too much. -

Registered 10 years ago@neems lol, guess it’s coming at a tight time. Also I have the dx version given away with the ambassadors program on the 3ds. It does look utterly lovely and had time spent on the rerelease but it really needed to be a bit lower priced for me to jump straight on.
Any impressions of the collectors edition out there? -

Registered 4 years agoThere was a post on Reddit a couple of days ago with someone showing off their collectors edition, but can't find it. Hopefully mine'll arrive soon once the Amazon person delivers. -

Registered 4 years agoLimited edition review: Steelbook is nice, looks like a Gameboy and has screenshots of the original inside. It's a little bit pointless since the actual game comes in the normal box anyhow. Artbook is nice, not as thicc as I'd like but lots of lovely content. Box is very box-like. Not as hard cardboard as I'd have liked, can imagine it'd look manky after an average amount of abuse. Has ribbons you can pull inside which is a nice touch.
If you like collecting pointless things that you'll probably only ever look at twice I'd recommend it. -

Registered 8 years agoI've posted in the review comments, but I need to know if this is different enough from A link to the past?
I must have totally missed this game on the Gameboy, and I had it confused with a link to the past!!!1 -

Registered 17 years agoMechanically it's very similar (it started as a port of LttP) but the game itself is different. -

Registered 17 years agoIt's a different game, with a lot more personality and charm imo. I feel like it's aged a bit better than LttP has in many ways.

I definitely remember it as LttP but weird.

How is everyone finding the performance, it's not super jarring is it? -
Well this game is as lovely as they say. The frame drops are very odd though, mostly not an issue but seem to be from certain area changes or menu transitions - I certainly would mark the game down for it
Edit: don’t remember the conversations being stored in the menu on the old game, that’s very handy when you can’t remember what the last advise was

Registered 13 years agoPerformance seems fine, not really noticed the dips in frame rate or resolution. Only done the first dungeon though so maybe it gets worse. -

Yeah for an extra 20 quid I think it's a solid LE. The steelbook is great, they did the "get the normal box and steelbook" for Metroid Samus returns aswell for some reason. Dunno why.

Was listening to NVC on the way in this morning, they said the framerate dips were mainly in a couple of specific villages, and nothing to really worry about from gameplay terms. But then again, IGN so meh
