Gotta love Barry Shitpeas too :)

    Noooooooooooo

Agreed. For a show with the man's name in the title, there wasn't enough of Brooker. The sections that he narrated were generally pretty good too. Felt a bit conned with the terrible sections with Barry Shitpeas. He seemed to be on it almost as much as Brooker himself.

At least it didn't have Tim Key, I guess.

    Er yeah, cheers.

He's just not funny. It's another one of Brooker's rubbish 'meedja' jokes.

Not normally a fan of shitpeas but he was on top form, especially the Noel's HQ bit.

Games Britannia episode 3 has more Brooker and is very good. Still on Iplayer.

Can't say I've watched Screenwipe as religiously as the other Wipes, but I thought Shitpeas was hilarious. Really top notch.

A couple of Charlie Brooker related vids I found on Youtube. Probably quite old, but the QVC one is a classic!

Charlie Brooker appears accidentally on QVC
Charlie Brooker is right about everything song

He's on some thing on Channel 4 right now. I don't like him very much.

He doesn't really come off well in that kind of format.

Yeah or any format with quick wit

I got tired of Brooker pimping Dead Set and telling me why I must watch The Wire and Deadwood. For a while it was like Channel 4 in its heyday. For a while.

Not a bad gameswipe. The bit in the middle when this guy was talking about how most game writers haven't picked up a book is so spot on.

Is this a new one or the one that was on a while ago?

He doesn't come across well on any thing that involves other people as he is the IT guy of the media world and, well, nobody likes the IT guy. Because normal people know that IT ability is negatively proportionate to social skills so he always comes across as an embarrassing tool. Like watching your mate talk about WoW to your non gaming mates.

End of the year show was awesome.

    This is so fucking true.

Also, suprisingly (for me) Russell Howard's year review thing was great too.

He's calling time on Screen Burn then.

:( It was one of the few reasons why I dragged myself out of bed to get a copy of the Guardian on a Saturday.

He's still writing for them, just not Screenburn.

@charltonbrooker: For those asking: yes, there's a Screenwipe / Newswipe thingy coming up. And I'll still be writing for both Sat and Mon Guardian.

I'll be back later in the year with a new column, right here in these pages

It'll be good to read something different from him I reckon.

Woot! Must remember this is on tonight. Think I'll set an alarm of some sort.
