Registered 18 years agoDon't know what to make of this game, but it certainly seems unique.
It's out on 2nd of August in JP, so reviews should trickle in, in one or two weeks.

The PS2 games were fairly unique but did quite badly at review through not actually being very much fun. There's only so much floating around you can do without getting bored, apparently. -
I wouldn't get your hopes up too high. They already did two PS2 games to a general reviewer/consumer meh. It's certainly no PilotWings. -

Think it'll be a chilled out underwater Pilot Wings experience or something else entirely?
If it's the latter, I'm going to love this. I like the idea of just swimming around with no particular aim, kind of like the sailing bits in Wind Waker which I loved (no one agrees though

wind Waker just makes me smile and feel happy. I love it all.
If it's like the PS2 versions then you're a diver who goes treasure hunting in the sea around an island. There's rivals after treasure and sunken temples and wrecks. Got on average about 65% so not great but good if it appeals to you.
Doubt the Wii version will be much different. -

I feel exactly the same about Wind Waker and I still think it is the best looking game I've ever played (art style > HD polygon pushing).
Let's hope Lost in Blue is an improvement on the PS2 version and can get somewhere close to WW feeling of sheer freedom and space. If it does, I'll definitely buy it. -

Registered 16 years agoEverblue had a certain charm, and I'm a sucker for any ocean-based game - my collection includes Ecco, Everblue, Treasures of the Deep, Fluid and the extremely pointless and obscure Aquanaut's Holiday. Looking forward to this! *grin* -

Definitely a Marmite game. -

Registered 15 years agojust hope there are no great white sharks in it. That one in Echo The Dolphin on the DC is still the scariest moment in any computer game for me. -

Registered 18 years agoThere was a shark in a shipwreck in the PS2 footage of Everblue 2.
I just don't want to see the gaping maw of a Basking shark. They frighten me, it's just a cavern. Man sized!
I know they're pretty harmless for people but...

I played and finished Everblue 2, once you get past the basic looking interface and on-land sections, it was very enjoyable. You had lots of little missions you could do, like taking photos of all the different species, upgrading equipment so you could dive further\swim faster etc, hunt for lost relics for people in the town, auction items you found... can't remember what else. But it was easy to pick the game up for a few quid, and definitely worth it.
The title Forever Blue suggests it would have some relation to the Everblue series, but after watching the trailer, i'm thinking it might just be more for exploration and chilling out. Could still be nice though.

It does look pretty wonderful. The music will be be the real difference-maker as well though, it'd be nice to hear some more.
I would also have to start smoking weed again I think..gif)
