The music is perfect for the game! If only it would play more than one song over and over and over.... Urghhh.

The game is great overall. I just had a mini sawfish "harrass" me during a guided tour! He seemed to like our company, as he kept following me for the duration, jumping in front of me and making that "touching" noise. Weird! Wonderful!

Bleh, it's a bit strange musically. It'll start to play a track once I enter a certain area...then stop. Guess it's better than choosing Hayley Westerna, nice singer and all but just not my thing.
I started playing this last night and got five hours out of it, the limestone caves were pretty nice.

I love it when the fish follow you, there's a couple of species that seem to hook-up with me every time I dive, tee hee.

The soundtrack is ace, really suits it. There's only one track I've not liked from it so far, when you discover the ship graveyard. Other than that though, it's delightful. Custom soundtracks have the same problem as the actual one though, that it loops the same track over repeatedly. Grrr.

I just keep with the default one now. It is less annoying because it changes if you enter different areas.

As much as I like the songs, you can only listen to them so many times in a loop before they get on your nerves.

What helps when making a custom soundtrack is to take a couple of thematicaly fitting tracks and merge them into one big file. (It should play around 20 to 30 Minutes)
Make three or four of these and you're all set.

Yeah, I did that and it improved the experience immensely (I hate that Hayley Westenra, I hate her so so much).

Just picked this up today, cheap at GAME. Played for an hour or so and I'm really taken by it. There are so few games now that promote taking your time and enjoying the journey rather than the reward. Looking forward to sticking a load of ambient tracks on an SD card and spending a good many more hours mooching about underwater.

I love this game, probably my favourite wii game! Good idea about the custom soundtracks. I'll try that and find all the extra stuff I didn't realize was there mentioned in this thread when I get the game back from a wii casual at work who I lent it to in order to spread the endless ocean love. She doesn't seem that interested in it though..

Yeah, in some ways I can see why a casual wouldn't take to it, despite the fact it's so pick up and play. My missus watched me play for a short while earlier, before walking out with a 'what the fuck' look on her face...

    It's a menu option, IIRC.

Or do you click on the ladder on the boat?

Been ages since I played it, have yet to replace my stolen copy.

    Endless Oceanites, behold!

Looks like the sequel got a stonking 9/9/9/9 in Famitsu when it was released Septembertime over in Japan.

The sequel, Endless Ocean: Blue World is listed on Amazon.com for February 22 2010. Play.com are listing the EU release a whole weekend earlier for Eurolanders, out on Feb 19.

Loads of gameplay videos here: http://wiifolder.com/tag/endless-ocean

It looks really nice - better graphics than EO - and Nintendo will be missing a trick if they don't pummel Facebook with adverts for the game. As above, Famitsu obviously rate it, looks like the the first as in its a decent and supremely relaxing fish-a-thon, but with various tweaks and more stuff to do.

Now I know loads of people (apparently) play stuff on Facebook like My Aquarium, Happy Aquarium, Fish Ville, My Happy Aquarium and My Happy Fish Village of Aquariums so this really is a massive commercial success waiting to happen if Ninty can get the right publicity for it.

Is it just me excited about this? It's pootling x2, to the power of 2. Or have the original shoal of Endless Ocean pootlers moved on from its delights?

No, I can't wait for EO2. EO is great.
