just last saturday, i bought odama for the cube. It was pre owned and all but clearly never used. anyway, i was able to successfully register the stars from the enclosed voucher that the previous owner hadn't bothered with. Odama came out in 2006 so I guess the vouchers don't expire that quickly.

Well I've just checked my account, only to discover that I've lost 4,350 Star Points as they've expired. Gee, thanks Nintendo... it's not like I haven't been trying to convert them into Wii Points for the past six months, only to find out that everything has gone but the odd 100 Wii Points!!! I've only got 500 Star Points left now.

Nintendo really do suck sometimes. Clearly they've realised that people are using the Star Points so they decided to handicap them so fewer people can spend them. I can't think of any other valid reason why these points would expire otherwise.

You should of got the 100 ones as u can get 3 day there isnt any difference for getting 100 or 1000 it costs the same starts.

I did all mine and now have 6000 Wii points to spend !

Buy a Nintendo-published game or a piece of Nintendo-made hardware and you get a slip of paper inside with a bit of silvery stuff that needs to be rubbed off with such as a coin or a fingernail. Doing so will reveal a number, which you take to www.nintendo-europe.com, sign in, then use to register your game/hardware. In return for doing so, and for asking a few marketing questions, you get given some stars (about 250 per game I think), which you can then trade in for some tat on their website, or swap for points to use on the Virtual Console/Wiiware service. The exchange rate of stars to points is 4 stars = 1 point, and you have to be pretty determined as the purchasing system is...not popular, put it that way.

Cheapest place to buy Wii points? Could have sworn I saw the cards on sale online for less than £12 but I can't find them now.

I have got a laod of nintendo products with the unused star cards in them (probably about 25 products). From reading this thread, it would appear not, but is it even worth the hassle of registering them all?

Definitely not worth it. I suggest you just post them to me instead.

That was what the old system. It's changed so you get slightly less stars per game, but the stuff generally costs proportionally less stars. Not always though.

Ok, now it's not accepting my registration codes. Is there a limit to how many products I can register per day or something?

I've got an e-mail from Nintendo which says that they're going to expire the stars from Gamecube and GBA games on the 22nd of March.

I'm not sure that means if it's not going to allow you to add those stars to your account if you've still got the bits of paper hanging around or it's going to remove the stars added to your account from Gamecube and GBA games.

Grrr! I've got through my pile and I'm on 4800 points... 200 off the 5000 I need to get one of the GBA games. I have two cards that won't register. Pissed off. Might have to go home and try and find that DS system one I couldn't find.
