    CDs are different. They're for music, and putting your movies in a CD rack would look wrong.

    No, because VHS is a magnetic storage medium and DVDs are optical. DIFFERENT.

    So what should DVD have adhered to for it's case size?

    Logically, wouldn't the size of the disc make sense, a la CD?

    DVD is the right size. Blu-Ray should be banned until they change it because otherwise the cases look wrong next to DVDs on a shelf.

    That's a decent price! But the smart people will wait a few months for more to flood the market, I've been burnt before buying the first affordable devices that hit the market. :/

    Had to rez this thread as I seem to have lost the ability to create new threads . . . :(

    I'm considering getting an External USB Blu Ray drive. They go for around £20 on ebay and I'm tempted to get one as my iMac's Optical Drive has recently given up the will to read DVD's.

    Has anyone here got one or know if they're any good as I can't justify £60 plus for one off Amazon?

    Seems my link was causing a posting issue. Link to ebay example.
