    Didn't save Alien 4.

    But yes, +1 Ron Perlman.

That looks very cool. Del Toro has a real skill in directing actors, prosthetics and CG and he manages to blend them seamlessly, with the help of his team obviously.

A fool on EG is a man who clicks on a link without checking where it leads.

And there's nothing wrong with AICN. There's something very, very wrong with the talkbacks though.

Saw it today and it was pretty good. I thought a fair bit of the dialogue fell flat, but there was some genuinely funny stuff.

It's very good. It's an absolute tragedy that this came out only a week before TDK in the US.

Also, it's pretty easy to understand, even if you haven't seen the first one.

Grab the Director's Cut, it's well worth it, the theatrical version is still brilliant but I much prefer Del Toro's cut.

I thought I'd heard this somewhere actually, but wasn't sure if I was making it up or not haha. I'll go for that one fo' sho'.

    Saw the preview today.
It's no Batman, but it's good, cheesy fun and the song singing is hilarious in a cheesy way.

I Just returned from seeing this, fantastic fun. The scale of the film and the sheer imagination on display is astounding. It's a tie between this and TDK for movie of the year so far.

I got the email saying they sent it at 8pm last night o_O

It hasn't arrived though. It was only two/three weeks ago that all my Play orders were arriving next day. They've gone back to being shit again. This is the reason I stopped using them in the first place, urgh.

My other order hasn't even been sent yet.

Just saw the Tv advert and it was shockingly bad (the music choice and the narrator guy) but the film still looks good.

Sadly, as much as I enjoy his works in other series and movies, I think he's over-acting his part here (even more so than in the first movie), whereas the comic is generally very understated - in that area at least.

It has to be said that I'm a huge (Mignola-only) Hellboy fanboi, the first movie was better than I had expected but not as good as I had hoped. I'm sad to say that I found HB2:TGA very dissappointing also. Its too much 'light-hearted superhero stuff' and not enough dark and sinister brooding... =/

Well the first one finally turned up yesterday and I gave it a watch. I posted the next bit in the film thread but I'll put it here as well:

Can't decide if it's an 8 or a 9/10 but I really, really enjoyed the film. Hellboy was such a great character and really funny throughout. Abe Sapien was also awesome, especially as he was voiced by Niles!

And let's not forget the clockwork nazi :D

Only downside was trying to follow the villains plot. I didn't really know what they were actually up to, what their motives were, for 99% of the film. I'm not even completely sure what was going now, but I now it was great fun!
