futurama is awesome and i'm looking forward to the new stuff they do.
Hope they don't family guy it. Despite it's weird amaerican pop culture refernces i loved the first series of this, but (apart from the dvd movie which was awesome) the new series' of FG have been crap.

Plus the real point here is: SOUTH PARK PWNS ALL!

Futurama has done something that Family Guy or The Simpsons has never, ever done to me.

    Made me cry, twice.

Jurassic Bark and The Luck of the Fryrish are very upsetting episodes.

I can't even watch Jurassic Bark - the ending makes me well up just thinking about it. It's only the second comedy that's ever made me cry because of sadness, the other being the end of Blackadder Goes Forth. That is the most poignant, appropriate, and touching ending of any TV programme ever made.

    @malteaserhead:

Yeah, true. I actually felt a bit alienated by Futurama at first because it lacked the comfort of the familiar traditional family unit. In fact, I remember being put off by the whole futuristic setting when it was originally released. Not that I analysed it at the time, but it must have been the combination of vibrant retro-futuristic art design with an unsettling, subtle-but-pervasive cynicism that confused me.

I actually can't watch that - my mum and dad's old boxer dog used to sleep on my bed when I was about 8 or 9 and one morning, I woke up and he'd died in the night right next to me.

Never got over that, actually welling up as I'm typing this!

    My favourite is -

Zapp: "Scissors cuts paper... and rock crushes scissors... but Paper smothers rock!!! Kif, we have a conundrum"
    Kif: *sighs*
Zapp: "Kif, search them for paper, and bring me a rock"

    LOL!

    OH COME ON!!!

The Simpsons have lost it so long ago, if I catch any of the new shows now, they just annoy me and almost makes me ashamed that I ever did like it so much.

Family Guy is way more funnier, and actually improves on what the Simpsons set out to do. Family Guy has me in stitches!

Futurama is a bit hit and miss and South Park is just lame.

Seriously, how can you not be rolling on the floor with laughter at an episode like "I am Peter, hear me roar"

South Park. But out of those, Simpsons.
  • Deleted user 21 June 2007 15:36:38
    1. Family Guy
    2. futurama
    3. Simpsons
    4. American dad

This is my order of preference which is the correct order of preference of course!

Family Guy is what Simpsons would be if it was written by a mediocre hack.
  • Deleted user 21 June 2007 15:44:48
The thing is with The SImpsons, sometimes I do think that Futurama/South Park is better, but then I go and watch season 4 again and wonder how they managed to make something so damn near perfect.

    Madder Max is right.

Adn that has nothing to do with the fact that he has Max in his forum name...

Imagine if they had made 20 seasons of Fawlty Towers. This is pretty much the position the Simpson’s now holds. Its own greatness is being undermined by the fact they won't stop making it.

The Neutrals are hilarious in Futurama and they also provide some of the best lines for Zapp. (Previoulsy mentioned Rock, Paper and Scissors quote!)

Neutral: "If I don't survive, tell my wife I said hello."
